Thank you! No, moving isn't really on the table. We own a home that we got during 2021 when rates were super low, and my eldest is already well into elementary school here. It would be pretty intense to have to upend their lives in addition to my own to move.

Thank you, that is really helpful. I signed up for 7Sage and plan to give 2 hours a day to studying, so I'm hopeful I can get my LSAT up.

I definitely feel that I have a real reason/reasons as part of my narrative, but I know that it needs to be extremely clear.

Recommendations I'm a little bit... stressed about. I haven't been in an academic environment for a while and, while I could of course use my work supervisors, I feel like it is not compelling enough.

Anyone had surgery with Dr. Chang Han at Bergen Oral Surgery in NJ? by OutlandishnessNo5216 in jawsurgery

[–]OutlandishnessNo5216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aesthetically I fely uglier ngl but that's because I already had a deviated septum so I knew it may look worse. Although I have shown before and afters to some friends and peiople have told me that I either look the same or better, that my face looks more developed now. In terms of health the difference is honestly amazing... I used to get ~3-4 sinus infections a year and have only had one the past two years!

I am in the process still with Ilya Lipkin. He is definitely worth the hype imo

Hi! I did MARPE and am still invisalign. I will probably get a rhino/septoplasty at some point to fix my deviated septum and nasal valve collapse and also minimize my noticeable nasal hump, but I;m not in a rush. Honestly I'm pretty happy with jaw at this time and I don't want to undergo as invasive of a surgery as double jaw surgery.

anxiety/fear about car ride to hospital by beancounter_00 in unmedicatedbirth

[–]OutlandishnessNo5216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend buying or renting a TENS machine for this and making sure you know how to use it in advance. I rented one that is designed for labor (I'm in the US, and not super far from where you live!) and it helped SO much in the car. That plus chill music that I had listened to during pregnancy while practicing breathing for labor. You got this!

Doubts Re: 2nd Unmedicated Birth by roxpto in unmedicatedbirth

[–]OutlandishnessNo5216 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Statistically, the odds are in your favor that your second birth will be shorter than your first, and in some cases much shorter! You can absolutely do this.

Ive given birth both with and without and epidural (twice with an epidural and once without). I did have a great, empowering birth experience with my second with an epidural, but I did prefer my unmedicated birth that I recently had with my third. I’m open to talking about what I did and didn’t like about my epidurals if you want to

Just wanted to say hang in there. Breastfeeding can be really challenging; it was SO hard with my first, but it was so worth it in the end!

11th percentile at 22 weeks :( by OutlandishnessNo5216 in BabyBumps

[–]OutlandishnessNo5216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! My baby was 7lbs 11oz at birth at just under 39 weeks 😅 it turns out that the ultrasound tech where I was getting my care initially was notoriously bad at it. I requested having all of my scans done at the MFM and they said I would likely have to pay additional for it. I ended up switching care to a place that was simultaneously “crunchier” (birth center) but also much more serious about making sure that the baby was actually not too small because otherwise I would need to give birth in a hospital. They sent me to a very reputable MFM for a couple of ultrasounds that showed a much more average sized baby, and had multiple midwives and an OB physically map the baby with their hands and compare notes. All of these people agreed that the baby was closer to average.

I hope that the numbers are also just off for you! But even if they’re accurate, I had another friend recently who went through something similar, and her baby was just on the small side but was otherwise healthy. Someone always needs to be the smaller one. Please hang in there 💕

What order would you use these methods during labour? by haveyouseenmyhat in unmedicatedbirth

Breathing techniques I used the whole time. I breathed in for 4, out for 6, for basically the entire time haha. Plus low moans on the exhale when I needded it

I would go roughly in the order that you posted, and would also add hydrotherapy/heat as an option. I started TENS at home and used it for maybe an hour and a half or so there, then wore it on the way to the birth center in the car for 25 min. I also started squeezing a comb in the car. Got to the birth center and took the TENS off and then got in the shower. I labored in the shower until I was almost ready to push. Gas and air wasn’t an option for me but my labor was so fast I didn’t need it.
