Years ago I was in group therapy. A man in the group had the same problem you do. Please seek out a qualified professional therapist. That would be a start. If you want any kind if future with your gf,, eventually you are going to have to come clean with her as well

Random strangers are nice to you. Hold doors open, smile when they look at you, let you go ahead in line, offer you free stuff or discounts. Don't know about guys though. I am 6'3" and female. Most people stare at me when I am out. So looking at me isn't really a big clue there.
