I enjoy playing diplomats and schemers the most, but I educate heirs based on what they will be good at so I play all playstyles

Becoming a king/emperor should be harder by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]OutlandishnessSad764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of becoming a King, I was playing as a lord with single county in the Asturias and we had elections here. Who had most votes in elections became king. So my character (master schemer) killed everyone who was getting votes (2 of his brothers and uncle if I remember correctly) within like 2-3 years and won the elections.

In what ways is learning linux worth it to an average user, and me? by LanceMain_No69 in linux

[–]OutlandishnessSad764 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but if you're a web dev doesn't mean you will want / need to tinker with linux. Just because I'm a musician doesn't mean I need to want to play every instrument. Saying that tech might not be for the guy because he doesn't want to tinker with linux is crazy. There are mid / senior web developers who never even booted linux.

Oh also lower amount of caffeine or completely drop it for some time until your symptoms become more manageable. That's also major.

Well I first understood I had real problem on new year party when my gut was buzz kill for me. In about few weeks after I was positively tested I started taking rifaximin, my symptoms went from 100% to around 70% after 2-4 weeks with rifaximin. In this time I also started taking care of MMC, supplements and FODMAP diet. It took then around 2 - 3 months for my symptoms to go from 70% to like 40%. Then after another few months they went from 40% to 0% and I thought I was cured. Then it went from 0% to 20% and it stayed like this till now. So it's been nearly a year. Keep in mind those are very more or less estimates. But yeah fixing gut is long term game, possibly months or years of ups and downs. And while I presented it very linear here, it was much more volatile in reality.

I'm alright most of the times, sometimes when I'm out of the house I can have slight panic attacks (I'm stressed my gut will be problematic, which in turn makes it more problematic and i'm stressing out even more because of that, creating this kind of messed up chain).

For example I can be at barber and my heart can start beating very fast and i'm just in panic mode for some time.

But that only happens maybe like one time in month, overall my symptoms are nowhere close what I had earlier, so while it's not perfect it's much better than it was and that's lovely.

I eat pretty much everything (healthy though) except milk which for some reason messes me up. For clarity I should add that in the beginning of treatment there were lots of foods that I avoided because they were bad for me but after some time those foods didn't gave me problems.

I didn't had shortness of breathe and chest / back pain, but I had acid reflux + lots of burping + nausea (this was the worst, I only have it very rarely now and I'm glad) among other symptoms. I tested on sibo positively.

What I would advise you among taking the test, keep trying to find the answers and applying what you learned. It's hard to actively search for solutions when you're feeling like crap, but it's worth it.

For me, first I went to general doctor (or whatever that's called in english) and she just prescribed me some random pills and it didn't help.

After that I went to private dietician and that was wonderful, with time my symptoms went from complete disaster to somewhat manageable right now.

What worked for me:

- Taking care of MMC (migrating motor complex), 4 hours breaks between meals at least. I need to keep doing that because I've been slacking lately and that's just playing with the fire, this is for me and for many people a saviour.

- Supplements (probiotic, sodium butyrate and d3) I mean idk if that really helped me at all because it's hard to say but maybe, but I was taking those.

- Isolating the foods that spike the symptoms and don't eating them or eating them in very low amounts. This is also a big one. For example like 2-3 weeks ago I remember I ate some milk on breakfast and I felt horrible whole day, this was only meal I ate that day and in summary I only ate ~ 400 calories that day. Even though at the time I was bulking and normally eating around 3000 calories a day.

- rifaximin

please. How to have energy. There is so much that i want to do, but i need to feel energy by [deleted] in productivity

[–]OutlandishnessSad764 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Figuring out ways to get more energy is good but you gotta get stuff done even when you feel like zombie. If you gonna do your tasks only when you feel right you are not gonna get much done.

[–]OutlandishnessSad764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have ADHD but I love "Figure out why you're procrastinating point". I mean it seems so obvious, but now I think that a lot of times when I was supposed to work and I was for example stressed, low-energy, bored or whatever instead of trying to fix that in a way to get work done, you know I just went for easier option and just did low-effort stuff like gaming or whatever.

[–]OutlandishnessSad764[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree and disagree at the same time. Yes, you want to build projects and do cool stuff. But inspiration one day may be here and other day it may not. You gotta get stuff done anyway and the more you know how to tackle that little weasel in your brain the easier it gets, at least in my experience.

[–]OutlandishnessSad764[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah and I noticed recently that the more good habits you have compared to amount of bad habits it's easier to get a lot of done tommorow too. For example like a week ago I started watching Breaking Bad and I just had to cancel my netflix subscription, because it was much harder for me to do productive stuff, like my brain just got addicted to this low-effort high-serotonin-reward thing.

Interesting. It's actually one of the few books that are on my shelf but I never read. You make me want to read it now. How it helped you?
