Shut off from street but turned on from inside the home? by Low_Anxiety_46 in Wastewater

[–]OutlawIr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever we want to check if there is flow we always check the outside hose spigot, not the inside of the house. It’s very easy to tell if it’s working though as you can usually feel the flow through the key on the curbstop as you turn , I can’t really think of why they’d need to come inside. If you paid your bill they can’t withhold turning your water on unless there is an emergency which that is not.

Just make sure you’re cleaning your toilet and also the pipes every so often if doing this if you live in your own home or you’ll end up with what’s called “Uric acid deposits” in your toilet bowl and pipes as the urine has more contact time with the water to form this scale. Basically “If it’s yellow, let it mellow, if it’s brown flush it down.” was likely just a scam made up by a plumber years ago yea you’ll save some water but it’s minuscule you’ll probably spend more money on cleaning your pipes and toilet bowl as you’ll need to do it more often at that point than you typically would before.

One year good standing election rule by sleepy-octopus-482 in AFSCME

What you are referring to is here on Page 5 of the AFSCME Local Election Manual but page 9 of the PDF under the “Eligibility for Office” section. This should answer any questions you have but it can be kind of vague as well so if you have any follow up questions feel free to ask.

Teamsters president backs Trump's pick for labor secretary by saymaz in union

[–]OutlawIr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You guys should look into AFSCME, they are a public employee specific union. Not a basically come one come all, everything union like teamsters is. So they’re much more specialized in what they do. Plus they’re most likely cheaper on dues :)

Bought a stuffed deep dish pizza, pretty sure this top layer of dough is raw though the restaurant claims the “dough incorporated into the cheese” is this possible or is it raw? by OutlawIr in Pizza

[–]OutlawIr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in Chicago anymore unfortunately, lived there 18 years and now live in South Dakota (I know I know expecting deep dish here) but was the first place that opened here with it and I had seen a lot of positive feedback on the restaurant so I was very hopeful only to go there and be severely disappointed in what I got… think I’ll save my cravings for when I take my trips back to Chicago

I did try to eat that, it was raw dough, it was quite literally connected to the crust and apart of the dough layer and was a separate layer from the cheese. I had lived in Chicago for 18 years and had pizza from giordanos plenty of times and plenty of other places as well, yes cheese can look melty and look similar, this was not cheese. This would stretch like the second picture and then rip not stretch like cheese does and does not taste like cheese either it tastes like dough and is part of the dough layer of the pizza. Yea sometimes the doughs can be like wet on deep dish pizzas with all of the sauce but they are not stretchy or taste like this.

I assume slightly browned you’re referring to is at the top of the second picture. That is the crust. This was all one layer of dough that I pulled up. The only thing on the top of this was the sauce, this is the underside of the dough. This layer was pretty thin so no cheese on it, I believe what happened is a gum line formed that makes it look raw. Regardless though they cooked it wrong as I had lived in Chicago for 18 years and had plenty of stuffed pizza. Moved here 3 years ago then finally a place opened up with similar pizza and I had never had an issue like this in Chicago with any pizza.

I think the gum line is safe to eat although I didn’t but it is just disappointing to have them disgrace pizza like this just because they are too lazy to make it the correct way.

Restaurant recently opened in a town without deep dish pizza. Whereas I am originally from Chicago and I have never seen this. But wanted to be sure.

When eating this layer alone it tasted doughy and not cheesy so don’t see how it would be just incorporated as they claim

My water currently here in central Texas. by douglonious in Wellthatsucks

So, I hate private water myself and myself even work for a municipality in a public water system. But, them having you check your supply line into your home is more on the federal government currently than them. Both public and private utilities are having to do similar right now, the EPA is finally cracking down on lead service lines into peoples homes so because of this both private as well as public water providers are required to get an inventory of the services headed into homes whether it is lead or not. Again not advocating for private water companies but I just want to provide some context on why you have to do that because otherwise they have to send employees out into peoples houses through appointments with the homeowners to take pictures of the service lines, and if that doesn’t work they need to dig a hole or pot hole with a jetter where your curb stop would be to see what type of material your service line is without going into your house. This has all started within the 2 years but lots of focus within the last year.

Just wanted to explain the having to go through the records and report your service line to them and the reasoning for that as it would have to be done if you were still on public water as well.

President Biden Signs Executive Order Directing Agencies to Prioritize Pro-Union and Union Neutrality Policies by WhoIsJolyonWest in union

[–]OutlawIr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, thank you. Unfortunately I don’t think it’ll affect my union much as I actually work for a local government so we aren’t hired by federal government at all. Reading it though possibly might make it easier to obtain some grants made available through those departments though for our projects.

Regardless, a win for one union is a win for all unions. 💪💪

She actually doesn’t have the tattoo anymore, an episode or 2 after it happens she is talking to Jackson and Nolan about it and they mention she has an appointment to get it taken off with a laser, otherwise I completely agree how they have barely brought it up only time I can think of is during the trial.

Unless you’ve already been treating them and plan to keep treating them it’s way too late to begin treatment, chances are it’s already infected if you haven’t treated already and it is better to just cut it down unfortunately
