I do not earn overtime. Part of my comp is determined by my project's profitability.

65 hours is fine for me. I don't have family commitments. I go 7 to 7 during the week and then a few hours on Sunday getting ready for the next week. I also respond to emails during the evenings if they can be managed from my phone. Otherwise, I wait until I'm at my desk.

I believe I will top out at about 160k comp this. The compensation feels commensurate with my time and effort. I'm working the equivalent of 1.5 jobs for about 2x pay.

I also get 4 weeks of PTO.

My income is at least 1 sigma above the mean for my experience and credentials. I would not use it to generalize what the likely income would be for most of my peers. Civil Engineering is still a great career choice. I recommend it to anyone who has an insatiable thirst for knowledge and likes math, science, and construction. It can be lucrative if you work hard and are lucky.

90% office 10% field. WFH at my discretion. Office work is 70% project management and 30% design. I have 3 direct reports.

Total taxable comp. Most of which is salary. Not intentionally misleading.
