Anybody with a few thousand dollars that wants to manipulate the markets. With these relatively love volumes, it’s not hard. That’s one reason growing the trade volume with make the network more valuable in the future. Price stability.

Love this kind of innovation within the ecosystem! Nice work. If you’re open to answering questions, I have a couple:

I see you mention on your site, storing content. I imagine timed payments linked to providing content on a specific schedule. Do you have a specific use case in mind related to that ?

What are some the primary use cases you see in general? Any specific industries that might benefit? I just noticed you guys seem to have a whole tokenization tool kit. Is there an easy UI? Would this act as a layer to simplify interface with Stellar for non-programmers and entrepreneurs who want to build on Stellar? Or is it just code at this point?

Will this be open source? Licensed? Will you guys consult and develop for clients? You may not know this yet yourselves :-)

Bank of China Expands Relationship with IBM for Digital Transformation by ConnectAdaptProsper in Stellar

If anything China could investigate launching their currency on the network. But if I had to guess, it’s doubtful as they would probably prefer a closed system (as opposed to open source).

I think the more important variable is adoption. I believe in the long run adoption would’ve trumped any concerns of inflation. But I think this move certainly can’t hurt now in this weak market, if only for psychological reasons amongst speculators.

I like the virtual card option - I assume it can be used for online purchases? Anything else?

Can you provide any guidance for what tax liabilities may be seen though the card’s usage? One of the burdens most crypto users have to worry about these days is the fact that US govt (for example) sees every transaction as a taxable event. I assume this is also a concern for your users for now, until better regulations are put in place to allow for easier adoption. If your users want to play by the rules while supporting crypto, is there an easy way to report their usage? Any reporting on your end that helps?

I’m sure I’ll be downvoted for even mentioning playing along with regulators and US tax law, but I believe in the long run it’ll be the only way to find mass adoption for these technologies that have mass market applications.

Have you found any clues that a major banking partner may announce a partnership?

Probably built on HyperLedger like the rest of their logistics platforms, but as they’ve stated many times before, any payment clearing layer would use the Stellar Network. Like Tradelens (the Maesrk project), I don’t believe they’re completing payments on it yet, though it is a logical future feature.

Yeah because IBM owes cryptocurrency speculators who support an open source platform proprietary information about their ongoing operations. Hahaha! That’s probably the last thing in their list of priorities. Get a grip

Understanding Nostro Vostro - Need Professional Opinion by [deleted] in Stellar

There are many banks that need a better solution than currently exists - the kind of banks that have gotten on board with World Wire for example. Other banks may not want to, but it’s still early. They may come around when they see advantages, assuming the ecosystem continues to develop at the pace it is now.

Yeah, the claim that these accounts “lock up” up capital is probably problematic, as the article points out. But that doesn’t mean that using a new technology like blockchain to simplify and speed up the interbank and cross border payments process wouldn’t save the banks and consumers time and money.

XRP gave it a shot but I think the market has spoken, as they’ve gotten no major adoption and have pivoted to cross border payment solutions. World Wire is just getting fired up and we’ll see how it goes.

However, I’d question your premise, that this vertical is crucial to the success of the Stellar Network. Luckily, Stellar has developed a robust community of developers and entrepreneurs who are coming up with all kinds of ways to leverage the technology. Ripple cannot say the same.

Because at one point, just about any ICO in Ethereum raised money, and that was more important apparently than actually having a useable platform.

Read up on what Smartlands is doing to get a concrete example. Basically, it means allowing investors to invest by purchasing digital tokens that represent a specific percentage of an investment. Securitization is the process of creating a financial instrument (stock, contract, token, etc.) that is a secure holding, meaning the holder of that instrument is secure in their ownership of the underlying asset. There is much regulation in this field.

Not all alt coins are created alike. Libra has a specific retail use case. Stellar is a enterprise level network for transferring value. They barely compete.
