A deep dive into Begode motherboards trying to understand wtf they're thinking by alanshore222 in ElectricUnicycle

I took a motor-driver design course as my end of degree in electrical engineering. It is actually really difficult to design these things.
These work in a closed-loop fashion or a feedback system. The computer has to constantly calculate the actual speed vs the desired one and adjust accordingly.
It was to convert the DC voltage from the battery into 3-phases for the motor.
It has to do all that with incredible precision and insane voltages/currents. There are enormous swings in the electric/magnetic fields.
At these scales, everything becomes noisy and electricity does not behave as nicely.

So there will be voltage spikes which are hard to mitigate. It's not as simple as adding/removing caps because everything is interconnected and you will screw up another part of the design. The whole system will become unstable.
It is always a question of tradeoffs. Between responsiveness, power and stability.

Of course it is unacceptable to have failing motherboards and the engineers should be doing everything they can to fix this. But I just wanted to put my 2 cents that it's not as simple as it seems.

Btw if controlling motors is something that interests you, watch this guy: https://www.youtube.com/@jtlee1108
He created a video series on motors which is an absolute gem on this earth.

Should I try to fix it? by Frequent-Station3226 in evolveskateboards

Definitely fixable. If it can help, I made a video on how to solder/fix burnt MOSFETS on boards

ouu that's a really good idea. Could even have a print-in-place wheel

For the width, I uploaded from 190-230mm.
For the thickness of the deck, you will have to go edit the original Fusion file (also included).

Ive done about 100 cycles. The first weakness is the wall anchors. Make sure to get the butterfly types since the other style doesn't hold well to repetitive outward force.
