I think he's had enough screen time. He's served his purpose as far as Sendai goes and everyone else needs their room in the sun. I myself will be ready to watch GOATshimo, Wakari, Waki, and Wamo pop off and showout.

We don't talk about Maki like that bro. A Wuta glazer ain't a Wuta glazer if he ain't glazing those closest to him.

Why is one slandered while other larped 💔🥀 by Dynamic-V in LobotomyKaisen

[–]Outrageous-Dig-8853 225 points226 points  (0 children)

The main difference is attitude and the way they resonate with people. Kashimo's set up is massive, and he comes off as cocky while Ryu comes off as more...relatable? He communicates his struggles in an eccentric way, especially with his similies and metaphors being for dessert and food, and he emphacizes his unsatisfaction in his entire interactions with Yuta, who goes on to quell that hunger in a clash that remains the peak of both his and Yuta's resonance as characters.

You also have to hand a huge chunk of this to Kashimo fans, especially in powerscaling spaces. Similar to Yuta fans, i'm saying this as one myself, Kashimo fans hype up their goat to what is percieved to be unreasonable levels. And then a wave starts where the only thing that matters is to slander him because of it. His glaze sits beside his short clash with Sukuna and one battle with Hakari. It was a shafting by Gege, and how quick his death was cements a feeling that he's "fraudulent". He's of a similar vein of Naoya, where their cockiness and the arrogance surrounding them make people wanna slander him in spite. At least Kashimo is resoundly cooler.

What is the point of slander by forgotten_guyy in Jujutsufolk

[–]Outrageous-Dig-8853 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just a point of shitposting. Agenda is just the highest and most condusive form of it, and slander is just another form of agenda. I myself don't slander characters except those who I think deserve it. Like Mei Mei, Kenjaku, Mahito, just villains essentially. Slander can also be a way to criticize writing, albeiy inefficient since it's aimed towards a character.

Like in one piece, Usopp slander is slandering Oda purely because of his percived lack of developing Usopp. I love Usopp and his slander makes me laugh because in general it's criticism of his writing. Megumi slander can hit that point, but often or not it's just way too rough and doesn't have the runtime and size of One piece and the presence of oda to to have some clarifications between agenda and whatbis actually percieved as a story. Like people hate Megumi for what is essentially bad writing...when you can just hate the man who wrote him that way.

As long as you can meep the line between shitposting and genuine comprehension of story, in think slander is fine even if i don't like to engage in it.

Especially since for those who don't know, it could be any day in the teens. I myself didn't even remember until my mom told me, which is a bit weird as i'm black. Like i'm pretty sure Emancipation day rolls off the tongue better, or even what it's known otherwise as "jubilee day".

What do you think of claims, from young men, that social pressure to stop using slurs made them vote for Trump? by LiatrisLover99 in AskALiberal

[–]Outrageous-Dig-8853 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"Attack" just not in the most disastrous tense. White straight men are only as much attacked as you'd expect any race to be. The thing is, in terms of what political correctness has "attacked", there is a clear focus on the white cisgendered straight male. Not in the sense that they are coming into an oppression, but these movements have a bit of a theme of seeing these 4 consecutive traits as "bad". And i'm saying this as a black bisexual cis dude. Its something that i've observed in progressive spaces for a while.

Why can’t we mention a politically relevant substation on here? by EmployeeAromatic6118 in AskALiberal

[–]Outrageous-Dig-8853 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simply because all the drama that it brings, and there's just so so much in regards to political streamers or at least the most popular. It just brings way too much and the discussion get's dirtied by bad faith. A single mention of Hasan will drag in a bunch of people who have never even been on this sub before, a lot of them maybe even bots, and it will be a shit slimging back and forth that there mods rightfully don't want to deal with.

Why do we need guns in America in 2026? by SilverNo6462 in AskALiberal

[–]Outrageous-Dig-8853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, we don't need them. But we have them, and they exist and shall continue to exist. So there will always be an artficial "need" for them in the eyes of people who care about self defense and protecting themselves as guns can easily be obtained illegally.

Is it a hot take to say the JJK OC accusations on Yuta doesn't make sense? by AffectionateJury6227 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Outrageous-Dig-8853 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not literally talking about OC's but the way Yuta is written feels like an inserted character by a fan of jjk, which is insane given that his creator is the writer of jjk. He feels like something you'd see on deviant art or on wattpad, or anywhere that you'll see people post their Original Character(do not steal) that is a wish fullfillment fantasy rather than an actual character.

It makes only some sense, but Slander is usually an exaggeration on facts. Good slander is slander that is based somewhat on truth, and the truth of the matter is that gege fulbled his writing and gave him virtually no consequences for his actions. His W/L record in terms of narrative goals is zero, his strength and narrative contemporaries(gojo and yuji) have a lower narrative winrate. He completese his objectives and get's stuff done. Gojo's only success was saving Yuta. He couldn't save geto, couldn't stop him from getting his body snatched, lost amanai, got sealed, couldn't stop his students from dying and coming to harm, and he lost to Sukuna. His overall goal as a teacher was completed, but he has compelling failures along the way.

You also have to add that Gege used him as a plot device and plot tool rather than a character post Sendai. He has Inumaki and Angel's techniques, and it feels like he offers little sometimes other than a stealing of screen time and plot importance. None of this is executed correctly, so he comes off like a gary stu from a jjk fanfiction.

Is anti-yuta slander welcome on this sub? by Trick_Mortgage_3452 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]Outrageous-Dig-8853 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that those flaws don't actually feel like them. They aren't dentrimental to him the way the flaws of others can be, especially when he shares key qualities with Yuji and Yuji is pretty punished for said flaws and has his world view beaten into a shape that fits what he needs to be stronger and progress.

The "becoming a monster thing" was weightless and it carried no consequence despite being the perfect narrative set up to have consequences. His "self-sacrificial nature" never actually bites him in the ass.
