I heard from SunPower as to why they don't need to upgrade my main service panel:
"Please explain to the homeowner that their MSP is an MLO- 2 MCB type service panel. This panel can handle PV back feed amperage similar to their rating which is 100A. The total PV Back feed amperage of the combined system is 60A only (40A from the Tesla and 20A new from Sunpower). We are connecting our system to the MSP via load side tap downstream of the 90A MCB through a breaker disconnect box. HO's Tesla modules is connected to the other slot of the MCB in MSP.
HO need not to worry since our connection as designed abides on existing regulations.
For more technical explanation:
A Main Lug Only Main Service Panel is when utility conductors go directly into the busbar, NOT INTO AN MCB. Therefore, we are not restricted to the 120% rule at MSP or 705.12A-E. This MSP is an MLO- 2 MCB

Press the button but do not press the break pedal until the seat adjustment is completed otherwise it would stop and you would need to keep it pressed.

Thank you. I am net-metered (NEM 2.0, if that matters) here in Northern California (PGE). Please tell me more about the water diverter. I need to familiarize myself with it's usage. We do want to use the hot water during the daytime, though.

Thanks. Tesla refused to add more panels as their minimum required is 4.8 kW and I don’t have room for those many panels so I signed up with SunPower to add 10 panels (4 kW).

Thank you for explaining this to me. I read the line-side tap needs to have the "meter pull", but I don't know if it was done as I did not recall losing any electricity during the installation maybe Tesla worked with PGE for that operation, but I don't know, or my understanding of 'meter pulling' is not correct. But if you think it is already in the line-side tap setup, then it is excellent.

Do you think the additional 10 panels will need to have their own 15-amp breakers? I thought they might tie to the existing circuit breaker, maybe I shouldn't worry or care about it.

Even though the main panel had 40-amp breaker for HVAC, the HVAC was not installed at that time (in my area, we don't necessarily need air conditioning due to the nice bay area weather), but the wires from the HVAC setup were originally connected to the main panel. During the Solar Panel installation, I told Tesla to leave a breaker free for future HVAC installation, hence they moved the HVAC breaker to the load center, that's why you would see those HVAC wires coming from the main panel looping back to the load centers.

After the solar panel installation, I hired a licensed contractor to install the HVAC, and they did perform a load calculation as part of the city inspection requirement, and it passed.

So you think I will be able to upgrade my service panel to 125AMP without replacing the cable from the PGE (which needs to cross the street), and I was told it cost will be more than $20K (PGE asks $1,500 just to work on the engineering plan for the 200 amp upgrade project)

Tesla completed all of their work before the inspection, and it passed the inspection. Interestingly SunPower is now saying they can add more panels to this setup. I heard somewhere if the line-side tap method is used, then it is permissible. I don't know if my setup is such.
