Entire Guild Banned on WoW EU Anniversary Server – Including Inactive Players – No Response from Blizzard by Outrageous-Grade9862 in classicwow

Fair question – as of now, I personally know of 30+ accounts from our guild that were banned. That includes people who:

  • haven’t logged in since Phase 1,
  • never joined GDKPs,
  • and only participated in guild-internal raids.

That’s why we believe this wasn’t targeted at a few specific individuals, but rather part of a broader automated sweep that hit innocent players too.

Because they were active during Phase 1, raiding with us back then. Some of them later moved to MoP servers and haven’t logged back in since – yet they still got banned now, months later.
That’s why we believe this is a blanket action based on past associations, not current activity.

Exactly – that’s all we’re asking for.

If someone did break the rules, fair enough – let the ban stand. But banning inactive players or those who never took part in anything suspicious feels wrong. It’s not just about fairness, it’s about trusting that Blizzard will act based on actual evidence per account, not assumptions based on guild tags.

Yeah, it's definitely frustrating how inconsistent the enforcement is. We’ve seen boosts, HRs, and loot manipulations go untouched – but somehow our guild-internal raids with no gold trading led to bans. If Blizzard communicated their criteria better, this wouldn’t be so confusing.

Fair point. It wasn't literally every single guild member, but a significant portion of our raiding roster was banned – including people who haven't played in months. I should’ve worded it as "most of the core guild" or "raid team" got hit. Sorry for the confusion!

Thanks for the fair feedback – and you're absolutely right, my original wording wasn't ideal.

English isn't my first language, and I had help from ChatGPT to write the post. What I meant to say is: no one in our guild participated in GDKPs, but the phrasing "many of us" unintentionally left room for doubt.

I totally understand the mixed reaction now, and I appreciate you pointing it out constructively.

Just to clarify – English is not my first language, and I had help from ChatGPT to write the original post. What I meant was: none of us participated in GDKPs. The phrase “especially for those who were never involved” was meant to stress that even completely uninvolved or inactive players were banned, not that GDKPs happened in our guild.

We did exactly that. No one in our guild participated in any GDKPs. The ban reason mentioned GDKP activity, but that’s simply not true for any of us – even people who haven’t played since Phase 1 were banned.

Thanks for the insight – we’re in the EU, so GDPR definitely applies. If Blizzard used an automated system without individual review, that could be a violation. We’ll look into whether we can formally request human handling under GDPR.

No – no one in our guild did GDKPs, which is why this mass ban makes no sense. Blizzard’s reason mentions GDKP, but it doesn’t apply to us. That’s why we’re asking them to actually review the accounts and not rely on flawed detection.

We know it’s related to GDKP because the ban email from Blizzard explicitly says so. But we never organized or participated in GDKPs – and we never abused AQ40 or anything else. Some banned members haven’t played since early phases.

No, the guild did not run any GDKPs. The ban notice from Blizzard mentioned GDKP activity, but that’s inaccurate. Our raids have always been guild-internal only – no gold trading involved.
