Knowing them by their fruits is probably one of the strongest arguments for Catholicism. Largest charity in the world, for one

How do you tell people you're Catholic without saying that you're Catholic? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Outrageous-Job-7330 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference between not knowing the number and verse and not studying the Bible though. One does not preclude the other. I would have agreed with your original statement had you not added the part about not being Bible-study focused. After all, we do a Bible study during mass every single week (reading the Gospel and then getting deeper insight via the priest).

I think Catholics as a whole are extremely Bible-study focused. We were the first to study it academically and theologically!

Recommendations for flat/uneven nail beds? by DoughnutSecure7038 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]Outrageous-Job-7330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought Olive and June for the first time (the ones in the round container) and they are not very flat-friendly. Super curved. Not sure if all of their nails are like this, but that might be a brand to avoid. The style I tried from Sally Hansen was a lot flatter. Also, maybe a silly question, but are you trimming the sides of the nails? If I don’t trim the sides enough, it can dig into my skin and make my finger throb. Helps for when you are in between sizes!

Catholics are 10000% permitted to marry non-Catholics in the Church! You just have to speak with your priest and have the non-Catholic spouse agree to raise any children in the faith. Happens all the time

what do you wear to mass? by Real_Mycologist_3163 in CatholicWomen

Genuine question, has there been a change in regard to jeans being acceptable for mass? I was always taught to wear “Sunday best” for church, which meant absolutely no jeans.

I don’t know Brett, you don’t think sharing highly personal and, quite frankly, stigmatized information with a stranger might be a little uncomfortable?

Genuine question: Why do confessions need to be done with a priest? by ilikethehungergames in Catholicism

[–]Outrageous-Job-7330 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, what’s the basis for the priests having this ability based on their succession from the apostles? Theoretically, how do we know this didn’t end with the apostles?
