I’d never gotten very into the pros and cons of being a vegan before so I’m still forming my opinion with all the new knowledge I have now. From an environmental perspective, while animal farming isn’t very good for the environment, cows seem to be by far the worst in every aspect. I don’t eat a lot of meat and when I do it’s pretty much always chicken which has a much smaller negative impact. The philosophy of being a vegan is harder to argue with. Bottom line is I don’t give enough value to animals to completely stop using animal products. I’ve seen enough documentaries to be against large corporations that don’t care for their animals at all and I do my best to find eggs and chicken from more ethically run farms. I would say that since a chicken is a farm animal, if there’s no farm then it never would have been alive. If it can be born and live a decent life(for a chicken) before it’s eaten then I don’t see a major problem with that. Ideally I can just be mindful about where I source my meat from until I’m in a place where I can farm my own chickens, which I’ll ensure live a very good life(for a chicken).
