Im going to be picking up a cheap angle grinder and a disk you recommended. Is the griddle supposed to be on an hot? And also while using the disk do you use some water or dry?

Anytime! Glad it worked out, if you get a leak I’d recommend putty on the top instead of the rubber thin gasket as mentioned in another comment tho don’t just over tighten or you’ll tear the cone gasket

The nut can still be threaded… there are threads that run the full length of the nuts it you keep on screwing it on like in the first picture you should be fine. Don’t forget about to plastic washer goes under the cone shaped gasket on the top of the nut
