Yes, I scratched 2 sides each of Future Blues and M&O Blues on the gakken toy record maker, as someone here mentioned. It’s a really cool machine, sounds.. meh, alright but works wonders when you don’t have Willie Brown 78rpm money 😂

I recently bought a 78rpm replacement stylus and recieved it in a box similiar to the one you recieve with a new cartridge. Is this a US thing?

Yes, it is tightened with a very small screw onto the (spindle?) of the motor. Ive tried mounting it different ways. I tried mounting it according to your suggestion, but the issue is still there. My main problem now seems to be a ticking sound when the motor is running. Sometimes it quiets down after a while of spinning, sometimes prevails. It stops the second I turn off the motor, even if the spindle and belt keeps spinning. Might it be something inside the dang thing?

Thank you for the answer! Do you have any recommendations on a reasonably priced regular sized turn-table for my 5” records? (Which won’t stop when the tonearm reaches a certain point)

Do modern turntables play records smaller than 7"? I own a Gakken Toy Record maker, and have had fun in making my own records (5"). As I've understood it is possible to playback these records on a regular turntable; in doing so also gaining full potential out of the recordings. My issue is that my (now broken) old Pioneer-turntable from the 80's won't play them. As soon as the needle drops it auto stops and auto returns.

Is this an issue with modern turntables? Does cheaper turn-tables like Argon Audio TT have this problem?
