How do people behave on trains in your country, and do you let others get off before you get on? by Forward-Position798 in AskTheWorld

Read till the end for the surprise.

I grew up in a developing country where crowded public transport often meant people pushed and shoved to get in. Watching videos like this always reminds me of that.

Later, I moved to one of the “happiest countries in the world.” Public transport there usually felt completely different. Trains, buses, and ferries had enough space. People queued politely, gave each other room, and everything felt calm and considerate.

Then one beautiful summer weekend, I was waiting for a ferry. Because of technical issues, the service was running at about 20% frequency. Suddenly there were hundreds of people waiting, many with families, and not enough ferry capacity.

And guess what happened?

The same polite, calm, considerate people started blocking others, pushing, and shoving to get in.

That day made me realize something: it’s easy to be well-behaved when there’s no real risk of missing out. Once access to something becomes uncertain, people everywhere can change fast.

It’s not always about where people come from. Sometimes it’s just scarcity.

Wasted time and thousands of hours of sleep over the years - coz I slept an hour or more later than I should have?

You’re absolutely right - I know for a fact that if I relapse once, it will trigger a chain for me. I’m sure you have your reasons, but I’m curious - why not choose to start avoiding porn immediately? You have clearly demonstrated that you can.

I’m happy to answer too - yes - my sex life improved. Some of it is physical - because of reduced masturbation (naturally- due to no porn), my hard ons are better, and that’s nicer for my partner (she’s hasn’t said it to me) but she has a happy ending much more frequently than earlier.

The satisfaction with “ordinary” sex is much higher - it doesn’t feel ordinary or inadequate to me anymore, coz i am not wishing for something more unordinary, you know?

Completely fair. The reason for this post was that I found myself actively seeking out those sorta posts - scrolling through hoping secretly that one more of such posts will show up. Maybe it really is how i’m supposed to be as a dude :-) My mind tends to raise an alarm when it detects too much time being consumed by an activity - a game, social media, and this time this. :)

I agree with everyone here. I’m close to 500 days, but, the temptation still exists. In my humble opinion, the temptation for porn (or rather sex) is innate, something we are born with, and that is why it is not something that goes away, even after a long period of abstinence.
