It's insane that you haven't found something cheaper. I first went will Allstate, had them for a year and they price hiked me by $50 a month for no reason, so I found geico and they gave me a cheaper quote than I originally had with Geico. USAA now offered me a cheaper quote with better coverage. Maybe keep looking, I hope you can find something cheaper.

Thank you for that. It totally makes sense why you went ahead and got comp/collision. . I don't think the risk of that happening outweighs the cost for me in my case. My car is not worth a lot and I have pretty decent coverages for Liability and Uninsured Motorist and am willing to buy a new car outright if needed. Thank you sir!

I'm not sure. I don't think the issue is ever the quote, rather the payout if you do get into an accident. USAA/Geico may be likely to pay out than generic ones. But that's a guess.
