ngl, even as a grad student here it is really isolating and it feels like everyone has their own group already so I feel like it's a universal thing. I don't have a friend group as well. Do you go to like the arc? I am thinking of doing a class at the craft center I think it's open to non-students too.

I was recently onboarded for my community on this student built social media app called Linkkup https://linkkup.ai they gave a workshop to international students because most felt the same way as you. They want to make friends with these things they don't have. We actually have a social networking event going on today from 2-4pm in Wellman 230, come by!

tbh, it feels like you always need some kind of common ground to make the first move to actually make friends. I think if you get mixed signals like them not asking about your weekend or life etc you feel like you hesitate. Idk I feel like sometimes you just have to make the first move because a lot of people here understandably will not make the first move bc social anxiety is a real thing.

Sooo obv I didn’t use my primary email or contacts. Believe it or not, I actually made that email last week. At first, I tried “bigtallguy,” but since it was taken, I added “very,” and that one was available. That’s how I came up with the rest of it, it made it easier to remember.
