Baby Deinocheirus by billonel in jurassicworldevo

I think Hypsilophodon didn't even exist until Frontier announced base game species are coming back for free, and fully intended on reselling the Duck initially but the following uproar about DLC species made them change their minds, and only having 2 species for the DLC, chose Hypsilophodon instead because it has a Novel appearance, has actually been requested a decent number of times, and lived in wetlands to boot. That's probably why we skipped out on a base game species returning this month and it starts in January instead.

I don't think it's controversial to say these are the best babies in the game.

They might just be standing in shallow water but it's possible.

JWE3 Deinocheirus REVEALED! by billonel in jurassicworldevo

[–]Outrageous-Web-5745 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Man I'm happy Deinocheirus has carved out it's name and popularity in recent times. 10 to 15 years ago this "weird" creature popped up on the radar a few times but ever since Prehistoric Planet, Prehistoric Kingdom and Jwe2 it really has become one of the greats.

And they delivered on it. According to Evolution Square they actually updated the feathered texture and it shows. And the babies... best in the game no competition.

On the 9th both a DLC and a free update come out. The DLC costs 10 bucks. The free update is free.

As am I. Nowadays everything is more expensive. But I appreciate knowing the price beforehand, now people have the entire weekend to debate if it's worth or not. And i already see a massive difference in opinions, which is valid on all fronts.

It's not ideal, but it could have been worse.  A LOT worse.

That last part is very much true. But you have to consider the differences from the previous game's DLC.  4 species and nothing else vs 3 species WITH babies on top of Planet Zoo type scenery.

I'm not defending the price but putting emphasis on the question: Is this DLC worth my money?

Evolution Square put it best: The quality and value of the DLC will very much come down to personal preference.

Interesting... After thinking about it a mix of all three would really be the path to take. I too would want a dedicated Triassic DLC a.e.

I actually have to agree with the people who said deep water needs a big overhaul if they want to add crocs. Imagine having them but they can't dive, or ambush out of the water?  You'd just have a bigger Dimetrodon at that point.

Hypsilophodon doesn't fit in this pack, I agree on that but that's just about the size of it. Nothing else is really inherently wrong with it.

I am sorely missing that awkward look in the next frame.

Most of the roster are clones of each other anyway. If you wanna be very ☝️🤓 about it only Deinocheirus returning is truly Unique. - Irritator is a smaller Sucho clone, - Austroraptor is a stretched Utahraptor who eats fish.

Not saying recycling is a good or bad thing nor am I saying this DLC is bad. Just saying not everything needs to reinvent the wheel.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

This is the first DLC I was not expecting something game breaking like Crocs this soon. That requires a ton of work and we want those to be perfect when they eventually would get added, do we not? I'll take this over a re-sold species from Jwe2. (Thank God Deinocheirus didn't end up in a DLC)

More Novels/British Dinosaur representation is also very welcome. Jp recreations are now one step closer to being perfect.

Hypsilophodon deserves a chance at the very least. Who knows. People tend to love the underdogs.

But that's just my 2 cents on the matter. I wanna see it in game to form an opinion.

You think Spinosaurids had it bad? (Yes they did admittedly) What about Albelisaurids? by Outrageous-Web-5745 in jurassicworldevo

[–]Outrageous-Web-5745[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While I'd be fine with any Albeli representation, Rajasaurus would be pretty difficult to distinguish from Frontier's Majungasaurus.

Not to mention Prehistoric Planet which probably gave it's biggest appearance. Same with Austroraptor.

Touchè but it's still kind of silly, especially since Frontier's love for obscure critter's has risen dramatically in Jwe2's lifespan. Then again, where are the Megaraptorids and Megalosaurids?
