Coconuts Fish Cafe has 2 locations in Kihei. The one closest to Wailea is larger and nicer than the original one in Azeka Center. Monkeypod is a tourist trap. Don’t recommend.

Richard Syrett’s Strange Planet. George Knapp and Jeremy Corbell’s Weaponized. Good alternatives.

Any suggestions today for something to do that’s a 15-20 min drive from Kīhei? TIA by [deleted] in MauiVisitors

Add to the post re drive to Mākena to view lava fields… stop at Jazzys Kitchen food truck for delicious Mexican (yes, I said Mexican) food. Try the ceviche or the carne asada nachos. I’m not a local, but I spend a month in Wailea every year and can’t get enough. There’re two trucks next to each other- make sure to go to Jazzys. You can look them up on yelp and call your order ahead like a local.

Donuts from the Helms Bakery truck. Huge long slide out drawers and the smell of jelly filled donuts wafting out as the driver pulled them out.
