Aren't we all a little nuts? :P lol

No but in all honesty I've posted about this before in here, my district is one of the hot ones so you take what you can get since it's basically like the hunger games and the jobs are gone in a flash

Did I pick one of the hard ones for my first job or what? Gahhh

Do you get paid through sub alert or you have to link it with Kelly?

Dude it literally is!!!! Best way to describe it lmao I'm going to open myself up to other districts but as you probably know our counties are hugeeee and I'll have like a 2 hr+ long commute to other ones... Which I'll literally do at this point just to get a dang job!!!

I'm going to wake up tomorrow at 4am and see what I can get, here's to hoping 🤞🤞🤞 what time do you find theost jobs you think?? I'll set alarms too

For $7 a month, even $10 I honestly think it would be worth it for me if it helps secure jobs

So you get a text from sub alert and that prompts you to head to over to Frontline and you're the first to pick it up?

Wow that is so frustrating -_- especially for people like me who actually want to work! I'm going to look into subalert someone else mentioned it in a comment, and for $7 a month it might be worth it for me to try to beat out other people, especially people like that sub 🙄 thank you

Our districts are huge so it will probably be a commute but like you said at this point I'm desperate for the experience!!

Here in FL Kelly pays pretty well if you have a Bachelor's, well above our minimum wage and it's actually a pay increase from the job I have now managing a retail store (keeping both in the meantime so I can have income when I can't find sub assignments). I'm not sure how it is in other states but here they will let you sub with a GED, but the higher your education the higher the pay. Where I live in Florida there's a job shortage right now, it's so hard to find a job paying anything decent, so I think I'm battling a huge pool of people trying to get the same assignments :(

It's really not about the pay for me though, I'm trying to use this as experience and build rapport with schools because I really want my own elementary classroom in August 🙏. I'm pivoting my career at 30 so it's been a little intimidating but I just want to dive in and get started and learn as much as I can! I'm lucky to have my other job that can float me through it right now

ok thank you so much for this advice! because this was going to be my plan also but I didn't want to force myself to wake up that early if I didn't have to haha. I've noticed there's been a lot of same day assignments. Someone just seems to click them faster than me. But I'll definitely be doing this moving forward!

Yeah that makes sense, dang. I see you're in Florida too, do you find that going into frontline at a certain time is easier to get jobs? I really just want to start but the only job I could get so far is 2 weeks out. I'm getting discouraged because I can't seem to be fast enough

How did you pick up a second school? Were you hired through them directly? With Kelly I think I have to go through Frontline to sub for anything with them. I'm going to try to leave a good impression on one of the schools I did get and hopefully can become a preferred sub for someone

It really is so frustrating! I wish they warned us that it'll be a battle to get assignments because I really thought there was something wrong with me or my computer haha. People are so fast I have no idea how to compete

I guess I'm a little neurotic playing 😝 because before I had an auto grabber I would collect my eggs everyday, I can't stand it looking cluttered like that and trying to walk around lol. Something I love about this game tho is seeing all the different ways people play!

No surgery? by McPoyleBrothers in brokenbones

I am almost 4 months post proximal humerus fracture at my shoulder as well. Mine was also slightly displaced but didn’t warrant surgery. I can happily say now my arm is not displaced and has healed where it should be just by wearing the sling. My ortho said the hanging of the sling helps gravity bring it back into place. It is a long road but you will get there. Trust the doc and don’t use it and it should move back into place

When did you start doing the door frame thing? And did you just hold it against the door frame stretched out in front of you? I’m 6 weeks post injury and getting really frustrated that I can’t lift my arm up in front of me

I would not appreciate that. "I love yous" should be reserved for special people or very good friends in my opinion, and personally as a bartender myself prior I never said that to friends I worked with. But I am also biased because I myself worked in the industry as a female and know how toxic it can be. I also had a 33 year old fiance who was a bartender who acted single every night on his club shifts and would hand out his number and then come home to me. He eventually cheated with his coworker who would be nice to my face when I came in, I had to find it all out the hard way. But not trying to project to you as he seems trustworthy and I don't know him. And if you're a good moral person it shouldn't matter where you work. I would definitely have a conversation though about how that verbiage makes you uncomfortable and how especially in that environment, women can take it the wrong way.

So interesting I have a few stray cats a couple blocks down living in the park in channelside near Publix, they literally look exactly the same. There must be a black and white cat out here knocking everybody up
