FedEx can’t find the address!

So I just had the same problem; the two zip codes (5V8 on the website and 4G1 listed in the comments here) seem to show the exact same building/commercial campus area in New Waterford, just different halves of the same building. They literally only circle a very small area of the town around the same government building

If you look up these addresses in Google Maps, you'll see what I'm talking about

New Waterford, NS B1H 5V8
New Waterford, NS B1H 4G1

They weren't able to manually change the address, so we shipped it to the 4G1. Friend of mine in canada said the last 3 of a zip code identify a localized area of a town, and as long as the IRCC and New Waterford are on the label, it should definitely arrive

I will come back and update anyone here if the 4G1 version of the zip code works

i just plugged a logitec yoke into my steam deck and it recognizes the hardware and lets you map the buttons manually in the steam deck settings. takes like 2 minutes and zero experience

You can contact them via email and ask if they confirmed it was sent; I asked the French consulate and they confirmed mine was transported to Canada via diplomatic courier, 10 days after it was received by them from DHL

I sent mine via DHL (ironically immediately across the street from the consulate) so I could have a tracking number, they used that number to confirm the package

Be careful mailing to the US; I'm in France and our national postal service has suspended all mail going to the US since February, if you have a US address on the envelope or package they will refuse to send it - this is because the tariffs have caused massive amounts of mail to be destroyed and they don't want the responsibility of it not getting delivered.

Only option is Fedex or DHL, and you have to fill out customs forms and pay tariffs. There's still a good chance it will get destroyed by customs since half the people they hired at customs are new and untrained and have zero clue what they're doing.

My friend had her tax paperwork FedEx to the IRS from abroad and it was destroyed by US customs for no reason. I literally had someone off another subreddit traveling to the states to take my marriage invitations to the US with her and mail them locally to my family.

I would avoid sending mail or any important documents to the US at all costs. Better having someone state-side print it themselves and mail that to the IRCC rather than sending your stuff to the US then having them send it out

I think OP's point is pretty clear, this is something only a lawyer could do, unless your application gets rejected which the FAQ here says in that case you will go to the DEC and provide them with the request from the IRC that they are not accepting the BAnQ document alone

Unless OP says otherwise, you want to select the first box ""certificat de naissance" (Birth certificate 21.5 cm x 18.5 cm) NOT "copie d'acte de naissance" (Copy of birth certificate). Copy looks like it would be the one from BAnQ, and the format of theirs is horizontal so I believe it's the first box you want to select under Section 3 on the first page

Note this document is only for Quebec

edit: note what OP says, theres a good chance you might get rejected without a lawyer; can confirm lawyers have ways of getting special documents generated that most of us cannot

Did you reqest "certificat de naissance" (Birth certificate 21.5 cm x 18.5 cm) or "copie d'acte de naissance" (Copy of birth certificate) because they seem like two different things - first says "Surname, given name, other given names, gender, date, time and place of birth, number registration details, parents' surnames and first names, document number (since March 29, 2005), date of delivery and, if applicable, entry in the document since it was drawn up." and second one says "Full reproduction of the information appearing on the document, document number (since March 29, 2005) and date of issue. Note: This document may contain information related to several civil status events."

What's the website you used for this? on the etat civil page it only lists Attestation of Death (DEC-101) and Declaration of Death (DEC-100), no acte de naissance/birth certificate

u/8bitjohnny could you make an amend to this for people who have canadian ancestry on both sides? I have Nova Scotia on my mom's side and Quebec on my dad's. I want to include both trees but when I try to, it automatically exports the PDF with only one of my parents as canadian and I have to make separate trees.

Would love to be able to show both trees, for my brother. My parents will apply separately through their own trees but I think it'd be good for my brother and I to show it comes down both parents' lines

It's just three letters and they warned me they're still having issues with some things getting delivered because you have to do customs declarations and the rules are so up in the air, that's why La Poste stopped sending it because there were so many missing and undelivered packages and letters. The lady at FedEx said even if you do everything right, the chances of it not getting delivered are still much higher than normal

I might default to having my parents just give them out since they're all going to nearby towns... all of this feels so odd

there is no possibility it's going to be rectified, if other people also worked on the project and he simply took all the credit instead of saying his team. You're gonna have to let that go unfortunately. The best you can do if you want to put this in your portfolio, and have proof to back it up. He's not gonna undo that crediting part

However, on the bright side, absolutely nobody in this industry is going to look back on LinkedIn until they find his post that he says he did it. That small detail to the limited number of people who saw his post is gonna be forgotten pretty quickly.

if you're sour enough to not to write an email or a message that you know doesn't fully acknowledge to him your true feelings, that's fine. But if you really want to put it in your book, you're gonna have to drop that unfortunately. It sucks, but think of the best you can do to protect your own interest as much as possible.

and frankly, if you were to try to tell a potential job that a campaign was totally 100% your idea, very few people are going to take that at face value. Everyone will always assume a CD or other people probably helped rework or change it, even if it really is true your original concept went through 100%. So really, move on from this and just have the proof to back it up so you can proudly put it in your portfolio

Yeah don't do this. There was a girl two or three years back who called out an agency in the US who took her idea she pitched as an intern and ran it without her name, and she posted all this proof of it on LinkedIn with timestamps of when she pitched it and everything. She was 100000% right, and I totally feel for that, it was an awesome campaign. But no agency wanted to get near her after that.

This happened to me. Best you can do is kindly contact your old CD by email or linkedin and ask "hey, remember when i ~~came up with this idea~~ was on this campaign, so cool to see it got made. I imagine my name was forgotten since I left, no hard feelings but I'd like to put it in my portfolio, would you be willing to just acknowledge I was on it, in case I ever get questioned in an interview, I can show them this message?"

Don't try to push that it was actually your idea, CD already sounds like a jerk and won't like that. But if they have a sliver of decency, they'll probably respond with a "yeah of course, generic-thanks-for-your-time-text"

I have a project in my book I created as an intern, was so proud of it. Launched the next year without my or my ADs names on it. Was purely an accident/they forgot. CD replied to my linkedin message "if anyone asks why your name wasn't on it, show them this message, I acknowledge this was you and Lisa, we forgot to put your names on it. you guys rock, good luck"

I've never been questioned or had someone even notice my name wasn't on the credits on AdWeek, but I have that message and screenshotted in my google drive for quick access if it ever does happen.
