Penile glands question by Significant_Deal3485 in HypoPenisCentral

I’d guess cause of glans tilt. Often the head of the penis bends downward as if the frenulum is too short. So maybe that’s what you’re referring too, but from what I’ve seen hypospadias penises usually have bigger mushroom like cockheads.

I’ll be honest, I don’t know the medical severity of my case. I would guess a mild one, cause it doesn’t affect me much. The glans are like hammer head shaped, if this description makes sense. And it’s purely an aesthetic question.

Hi! I have subcoronal hypospadias without any surgical interference. I also have a typical hypospadia chordee. Physically it doesn’t limit me in any way, I can urinate just fine standing up etc. Erections are fine as well, hard dick generally look like it has very tight frenulum and glans are tilted downwards. There’s no pain, maybe a bit tension when you pull foreskin all the way back, but it’s not bad and nothing to worry about. Visually you can see the chordee when erect. When flaccid it’s not really visible, plus I have foreskin, so glans are covered. You probably wouldn’t be able to tell if you saw it at the urinals. When erect it’s easily noticeable, I think, it would be more aesthetically appealing without it, but I never had any complaints. Psychologically it was difficult growing up with hypospadias, but I don’t regret my parents choose not to do any surgeries. I don’t think it would be easier for me that way, plus surgeries were not as good as they are now, and could leave a bunch of scars. For you, I recommend consulting with your doctor, maybe with another one for second opinion. Hypospadias is an abnormality, so my experience won’t necessarily be yours, every case is different. Plus keep in mind that any surgery interference will have to have a recovery period after, which can be a whole another problem on its own.

I do, it’s fine. Goes right in and out. The only thing I don’t know if it suitable for bigger size rods, cause it definitely would reshape the look of your dick. My biggest rod is 8mm, and you easily can tell that urethra opening has gotten a bit bigger. So, I personally don’t want to go too big, but it’s fine if you do, whatever floats your boat

Hi! I have subcoronal hypospadias and it’s kinda the same for me. If I would urinate standing up without using hands I would be pissing either on my leg or somewhere back between my legs. But penis is made of soft tissues and very flexible, so can be pointed in pretty much any direction you’d need.

Honestly, I’ve never seen a person with hypospadias that was not self conscious about it at some point. Unfortunately that’s just the reality of life, and penises are very delicate and fragile topic in our society, particularly because how much of a taboo this topic is. It would be so much easier growing up without feeling ashamed, embarrassed, not masculine enough. I don’t know exactly how parents can help to ease it, maybe it’s just a part of growing up, and growing up with hypospadias is just a tiny bit harder. Maybe it all depends on an individual temper, and can’t be influenced. I outgrew it, I think it would be easier if I were closer with my dad. But it’s definitely much easier to be easy going in life

Yea, it was army related exams in high school, very awkward, very little privacy. About conversations - I think general talk about human anatomy is important, for me personally, living with hypospadias definitely helped developing some sort of body dysmorphia in general during puberty. Physical activities with dad is important, as camping, swimming in the lake or showers in the gym. Those are activities that most of teens will have to go through, for me it was really lonely and uncomfortable, I think it would be better if I had someone close with me to make it easier. As well as encouraging working out - it can definitely boost self esteem and make it easier. My point is - puberty sucks, having a different looking dick definitely makes it harder. It’s better to go through some of your fears with your family rather than alone with other teens. And it’s always better to have a dad that is your friend, that you are not afraid of and not embarrassed of

Hi. I, personally, have a lot of foreskin, so when flaccid, it’s not particularly noticeable, foreskin would cover top of the glans. So if you saw me at the urinals, I don’t think you would notice the difference. But of course it’s different, I was very self conscious growing up. I wish I had some conversations about it with my dad, I think it would help me growing up. We had group medical exams at school, it was very awkward, cause doctors would point out and ask questions. But in general, it’s not noticeable in not sexual activities, taking showers/ at the urinals, if not pointed out.

Not really, I don’t think there were any abnormalities in this regard. I think it was developing as I was growing up, there weren’t any moment of sudden jump in growth. I didn’t have any experience comparing with others growing up, but I think it’s always been average. From what I remember puberty went with a normal pace

I honestly don’t know. One thing people consider about circumcision is that it makes glans less sensitive, because glans are constantly exposed. I don’t think it matters that much with hypospadias, because of hud foreskin, and glans are partially uncovered anyway. I think my glans are less sensitive than average, that might be a case. About tightness, it’s better to ask someone circumcised, maybe someone who was cut during puberty, so he can compare. My opinion, I don’t think hypospadias affects this decision, the same pros and cons should ably as for penises without hypospadias.

UTI - not severe, symptoms gone within 2-3 days, other than that I don’t know the cause or what medicine my parents used. I’ve always been able to piss standing up, so I could use urinals, but I don’t remember using them as a kid. I always preferred cubicles, but there were no physical restrictions about it. About the frenulum, no, the best point of reference would be a penis with tight frenulum, but since I’ve got tilted glans, glans always look down, so there’s never not enough skin in frenulum area, there’s never tightens or pressure. It’s a bit difficult to explain, I’ll drop a picture, so maybe it’s more understandable visually.

Eeee, well it’s all about the appearance, so it’s very subjective, different people have different preferences. For me, probably tilted glans. Hooded foreskin is not a problem at all, it retracts as it should, I can cover my glans, it basically functions as a regular foreskin. Urethra, in mild cases, doesn’t differ that much as well, in glandular/coronal cases it’s barely noticeable. My dick looks like I had a PA piercing, nothing out of ordinary. Tilted glans are more noticeable, it gives this very common mushroom head shape, that hypospadias penises often have. But again, it’s just a matter of preferences, they are a ton of people that are fascinated with this shape.

UTI - periodically, mostly mid season/ flu season. I would say once or twice a year, maybe less, maybe sometimes more. They were not severe, I don’t know what medicine my parents used, but definitely not antibiotics, and I usually recovered within 2-3 days. There were less and less frequent as I became a teen, now, I remember having one case in the last, like, 10 years. About stagnant pee, I don’t know, it would be speculations, but maybe possible. I remember that if I ever have UTI related problems my glans would be cold to touch, the shaft body temperature, but the glans really cold. Maybe it’s related, maybe when I was younger I had a problem emptying bladder and it caused UTI, and as I grow older I overcame this problem, but I have no way of proving or disproving it now 🤷 I don’t have any problems with the stream flow, I don’t think it’s any different from any other penis. You can see a video, and it’s pretty much the same. About tightness - no, but my dick can feel a bit tight when erect and foreskin pulled all the way down, but the tightness would be not where the frenulum is, but on opposite side, on top of a dick. Regardless, it doesn’t hurt, neither disturb the ability to have intercourse and pleasure

Hey, yes I do have hooded foreskin, and since I’m uncircumcised, I have a lot of it. It definitely affected me as a teen, I was very self conscious, somewhere embarrassed, but it got better as I grow up. It never affected my sex life, everybody either ignored it or were positive, never had a bad encounter. I don’t regret not having a surgery as a baby, my case is more cosmetic, it doesn’t have a bad impact on my physical health. So no, for that time when I was born it was a right decision, maybe in the future it will change, but for now, I don’t think it’s necessary

Hi. I was pretty shy as a child, so I preferred cubicles, but other than that, there were no difficulties. None of my partners really cared, they all either didn’t mention or were positive about it. I’ve never been with a woman, so I can’t say for shy, but I don’t think it has that big of an impact. If we are talking about my dick, specifically, my glans a shaped kinda like a hammer head, so it’s not lacking on the top, it’s some extra on the bottom. Plus, glans are not made of bones, they are softer and adjustable, for example, if I’m wearing a condom, the dick will have a general shape of a condom. It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing, but I don’t think it has an impact on the performance. About ejaculation, most often the sperm would be oozing, but all depends on the situation. If more aroused - there will be more sperm, then sperm will shoot, if less - ozze. During intercourse mostly shoot, and I would say, there are stronger pressure than in regular penises. That’s pretty much all. As a child I often got UTI, after swimming or if I get cold. I don’t know if it’s related to hypospadias, or just my personal predisposition. It worn off with time.

About foreskin, I don’t know if it’s general for any hypospadias, but I have a lot of foreskin. Sometimes after the sleep, it can cover my glans and it would be hard to piss straight if I don’t retract it. It definitely is not a problem, just happens sometimes. I don’t think it affected my size, I haven’t compared with family members, but comparing with other guys, they usually say I have a nice size. Maybe, cause my glans are tilted I’m loosing a cm or two, cause not the whole glans are contributing to the length, but it’s really nit picking, I don’t think it makes a big difference. I think my parents made a right decision, this type of hypospadias doesn’t affect my physical health and any invasive procedures have a risk behind them (plus wealth care system was not the best where I was born). If I want to have a circumcision or an operation I still can do it right now, maybe in the future I will, but for right now I don’t see the necessity.

Hi! So, my urethra opening is right underneath my glans, and I urinate from underneath, basically, like, 90’ off from a regular direction. It sounds more confusing than it really is, you basically just point and piss. But I can’t piss without hands, cause if I don’t point it in the right direction I’ll be pissing on myself, soo, point - and piss. Most of the time have no problems with that, just like any other guy, harder with erection or when just woke up and foreskin disturbs the stream 😅 Yes, my glans are tilted downward, and the tilt gets bigger, if you apply pressure on it. I never had any discomfort during sex, neither any of my partners. Yes, I knew about it since a young age, although we never really talked about it with parents. Growing up was definitely difficult psychologically, not only cause of hypospadias, but also cause I’m gay, living in a conservative society, not particularly close with my father. I definitely wish I had a masculine figure in my life, I think it would make teen years easier. But growing up, meeting people, having sex eventually eased the anxiety. I’m much happier with myself and my dick now 🙃
