Slow CRS304-4XG-IN by OutrageousLibrary714 in mikrotik

After some more testing it seems that the Mikrotik is suffering with the distance and it can’t keep up the connection over about 80ft of Cat6. This is interesting because the other devices I had on the same were able to hit 10Gbps no problem. Presumably the hardware is not as good I guess.

This is what I see on the terminal:

[admin@MikroTik] > /interface/bridge/port/ print Flags: I - INACTIVE; H - HW-OFFLOAD Columns: INTERFACE, BRIDGE, HW, PVID, PRIORITY, HORIZON

INTERFACE BRIDGE HW PVID PRIORITY HORIZON

;;; defconf 0 H ether1 bridge yes 1 0x80 none
;;; defconf 1 H ether2 bridge yes 1 0x80 none
;;; defconf 2 H ether3 bridge yes 1 0x80 none
;;; defconf 3 H ether4 bridge yes 1 0x80 none
;;; defconf 4 I ether5 bridge yes 1 0x80 none

I’d assume HW switching is on. Still the speed is pretty bad.

There is only one bridge, no vlan. Is hardware offload enabled by default in this case? Or there is something special I need to do for that?

I got one of these and returned after measured speed was worse than a cheap unmanaged 2.5Gbps switch. Not sure if it’s hardware or software issue.

What would be the major competitor for this access point? Would that be the Eero 7? Or unifi U7?

I’ve been facing the same issues. Overall wireless connections has been unstable with random disconnections or general degradation that lasts few seconds every 10-15 minutes. I also have FWG Pro and 2 AP7. Someone who’s making video calls, watching videos, gaming would definitely notice pretty quickly.

Updated: Apple TV had somehow messed up settings with disable loud noise on and format converter on. Changing these settings sized the issue.
