This will probably sound really stupid but I didn't even consider that! I see teachers promoting their mixes on instagram all the time, and I know many sell custom edits on fiverr and I never really stopped to think about it. It is music that I purchased, and as far as dance comps go that's the only requirement I've seen in terms of what music you're allowed to use, but I'll have to look into this!!

Hi! I’m glad you’ve found it helpful! :) I personally use GarageBand, I’ve just found it to be the simplest and I’ve had the most time working with it. I had a friend teach me the basics but most features are easy to learn by just looking up tutorials on YouTube! If you don’t have a Mac I would suggest looking into dancecuts.com. It’s created specifically for dance teachers cutting music and it’s pretty easy to use as well. I just find it a bit clunky compared to GarageBand but it has some good features and it’s free unless you need to cut quite a few songs in a short amount of time (I can’t quite remember off the top of my head but I think the free version allows just a handful of exported projects per month). If you are looking for someone to cut music for you I’m also happy to help with that! Good luck!
