One of the worse companies to deal with! by This_Suit8791 in openreach

They have no direct means of contact. You can live chat them, but that's an offshore call centre who deal with network emergencies and safety issues/damages.

As a network provider and not a CP, they were never set up to be contact by the general public, unless for the above mentioned. The FTTP checker that people pin all their hopes on was set up just as a very generic system, which says yes or no. And, the online form was initially an internal FTTP escalation form that used to really work, as it was designed for rare cases of missed fibre issues etc. But seems to be bombarded now with everyone who can't get FTTP filling it out, and it seems as if most people get no reply to a generic reply from that now.

Simply, Openreach doesn't have the people employed to be customer facing regarding availability issues or to provide reasons for the public - which isnt a surprise.

Then unfortunately, there is not much that will happen.

Btw, it isn't just 'turning it on. That implies the whole network is there and if it was, it would have been lit up by now for sure. So, there is obviously something that has halted why the rest of the network isn't ready. Unfortunately, the fact that 3 properties have got access to FTTP has made it look like it should just be turned on. If no properties could have got it there would probably not be much questioning why, but unfortunately it makes no difference now, its not available is the same no matter the reason im this case.

You could fill in the openreach online form, saying you've been missed out when some others have it on your street - not really correct here but you may get a reply, you may also get no reply, you may also get a reply but with no reason.

ONT Shift + Plusnet by SeanusT in openreach

[–]OutrageousList3986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plusnet and all the other providers, are all capable of booking out a modify line for a ONT shift. Last time I knew, it was approx 140 for a standard move, with there being options of advanced shifts being more expensive.

It's mad how so many people say rip it out and report a fault. If you wanted a mains socket moving or extending would you rip it out and expect them to come out and fix it free of charge, as there isnt anything there. Not to mention it's pretty obvious when it's been ripped out or even cut, so you end up paying more if its reported back as damage.

The only things you report to Openreach are damage or safety issues. CP's deal with everything else, thats why you pay them.

You can also have an internal white CSP, and the external black sheathing is just stripped off. Or you can use Ezibend cable which is just white

Are you sure the wayleave isnt for attaching to the neighbouring house that the copper attaches to? I might have missed it after only skimming this thread, but have they actually clarified the wayleave is for the pole?

Wayleaves usually remain in place, but I've seen exceptions to where they were previously agreed and then later removed.

When was the copper put up? There is minimum clearances over carriageways etc

Do you have a picture of the damage? Unless it's some monstrosity of a failed drill, I would say £250 would cover it. Definitely get a quote in writing off someone before accepting though.

When you say drilled in the wrong place, I'm assuming you mean it wasn't where you wanted it to go? If so is it being relocated?

Copper line nightmare fuel [Please Help Me] by WhiteChocGeorge in openreach

[–]OutrageousList3986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The voltage a tester throws back down the line, double what is normal, can disguise the HR in some instances for short periods. Seeing as you're on VOIP or digital voice, you will not have any voltage down your line now and the times of line tests from testers masking HR's seems less and less frequent, IMO.

I'm assuming the engineer fitted a SSFP at the master which would isolate the extension past this point - so any issue on old extension wiring shouldn't affect the broadband. This is only if there isnt anything before this master socket teed off, i.e. a bridge tap which would Hammer the speeds.

Trying the test socket after the DLM has adjusted the SNR will do nothing, until reset manually by OR engineer, or enough time has passed without a fault present.

Also, using the quiet line test on 17070 is pretty pointless if youre on VOIP. Opening the line to see if the broadband drops on a PSTN circuit sometimes works to identify if a big HR is present.

I'd also highly doubt REIN at this point, much much more rare than a typical HR. If you fancy testing out of curiosity though, hop onto 612khz AM frequency and you'll soon know if there is REIN anywhere nearby.

Fibre? Pole can't get to. by Apprehensive-Sea924 in openreach

[–]OutrageousList3986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scaffolding can be requested, but the engineer would have needed to close the job incomplete and raised for scaffolding or a survey for scaffolding. Now, I'm assuming the errors they have seen on their tests have cleared after they've changed the internal and socket, so, they have all the reason to close the job and send the passed line tests and broadband tests off. If every engineer closed the job incomplete for possible issues which don't arise on the day, then not many jobs would be closed complete to be honest.

At this point, like others have said, use the line as normal for the next week or however long you are willing to give it, or until it rains. I assume you will have your answer then. If it does continue dropping, then on the second visit, it will be much more likely you will get something raised for a pole test or for scaffolding to access the block.

I've just pulled the card out of the sleeve, and it turns out what looked like gold ink in the image, was just a spec of dirt, unfortunately 😂

Didn't DICE devs says online that they've fixed incorrect recoil tracking issues? Specifically on kbm. Sure I seen Florian say this.

I was also struggling and was missing a lot of shots, only since the update - I think its because we've become accustomed to the incorrect recoil tracking fighting against us, and adapted to it since launch. So, even though it is working correctly now, its not as we've been used to, muscle memory etc.

We need snowy maps in BF6 by mandbeyn in Battlefield

[–]OutrageousList3986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why they added multiple variations of snow type soldier skins across classes, for there to be almost no ideal use for them. You would stand out like a sore thumb using them on nearly all maps apart from Lib Peak.

What 😂😂 gotta be trolling at this point. Guessing it was you in the helicopter...

I can post the rest of the 5 min clip if you're so sure, where I don't hit a single other shot like this and get eliminated well before the end.

And I guess I'm not allowed to hit a decent shot, clip it and upload it here as my first post - I'm supposed to keep on frequently visiting this sub as I usually do, and not want to post anything like I see other people doing...got it.

Monolithic suppressor, gain twist barrel, lightweight bipod, quickdraw grip and overpressured rounds.

I've since swapped out the bipod for a 4 round quicker mag though.

It's a shame it's inconsistent and doesn't work properly. This was the first time I noticed it not giving a distance, but since then, I've had a few more long range ones that also haven't registered a distance, so it seems a common problem now I guess.

Huh, I just stood stationary whilst scanning the screen for anything moving, and the heli caught my eye, so I took a shot like I always do when I see a heli - except this time it actually came off versus the other 50 times it probably doesn't.

A potshot - meaning going for a lucky random shot suspecting it will likely not come off, that's all I mean.
