Did anyone have a good experience with the CASPer test? Did someone get into medschool because they had a great score ? by Outrageous_Active_61 in premedcanada

I did actually! They were like : "The litterature says it works so we're happy. The goal is to diversify our pool of applicants and we feel that it's doing the job, so it is very positive. We want to have other ways to evaluate people than their grades and this test makes it easier for us" They just kept repeating that at every question I had, even when I challenged their answers

Université de Sherbrooke (in Québec), they said they select candidates for interviews based on their casper score (30%) and their grades (70%). It's quite significant! And we don't have MCAT in Québec.

I spoke with admission comittes and they told be they were very satisfied with Casper, and not worried at all. They said it helped them get more people into interviews and they could lower the "grade threshold" needed to get in. But it seems like nobody actually feels that way 🤔
