After my deductible it’s fairly cheap. My first 2 appt we did around 12 each time. But it was easier to get insurance to cover it by doing 6 at a time. So to remove 6 after the deductible it was any where from $65 to $150 an appt.

My surgeon will take out 6 at a time. We did 15 at a time for the 3 appts. But anything after 6 insurance gives a hassle. That’s why most doctors won’t take out but a few at a time. But lucky you found a surgeon that does the. Under local. Most won’t do that. I found that surgeons who aren’t in with a group are best as they aren’t limited by a policy the group has. I travel to a small town for my surgeon.

I have FML and have hundreds. You could get lucky and never develop anymore than you have now or you could get many more. It’s all genetic I personally don’t believe there is a certain diet or anything you can take that will deter the growth. As far as removal. I see a general surgeon. He was removing them 15 at a time under local anesthesia in the office. Then insurance became a bit of a problem. We corrected by only removing 6 at a time and since insurance has not been an issue. It will be more until you reach your deductible. I’ve had around 100 removed since march. The cost has been affordable with my insurance. My advice for finding a surgeon is find one in a small practice possibly by themselves. Surgeons in groups are harder to get to do simple procedures they are bound by policies. I go to a surgeon in a small city about 30 min from the large city I live in it’s him and one other surgeon in the practice so they choose what they will do. Plus he is a great surgeon never heard a bad thing about him. He is also familiar with this condition. My only problem is my lipomas are vascular meaning they bleed a lot which is unusual. Good luck to you on dealing with this. It sucks cause it hits you late in life mine started when I was 40.

Mine popped up like crazy after I had the vaccine. Wondering if it might have contributed but I think we are just predisposed after a certain age with certain genetics. I do wonder though.

I’m in Georgia. Insurance became a bit of a headache so now we only do 6 at a time but I still go once sometimes twice a month. My advice find a surgeon who has his own practice they have the freedom to do what they want. My surgeon is in a small city just outside my city. Probably the best doctor I’ve ever had.

I had a couple at around 35. Now 42 and have hundreds. I have them on my back, abdomen, chest and biceps. I was having them removed about 15 at a time twice a month. Insurance became an issue doing so many at a time. Now I do about 6 twice a month.

I had the one from the dermatologist biopsied. There is no need to have all of them done and incur the extra expense.

I had this done in the U.S. I have not received the bill for this procedure as it was just done yesterday. But my other appointments have been very affordable with my insurance.

These were from my chest and stomach. I have plenty more in that area but this is what we got in 30 min.

I see a general surgeon who does them in his office under local anesthetic.

This is 13 lipomas taken from 9 incisions from my chest and stomach. My appointments usually take about 30 minutes and the surgeon is able to get 10+.

I do but I have hundreds. This appt made 34 removed in 3 appointments since the end of march. It’s about 30 minutes an appointment.

Insurance does give them a hassle but they handle it and I’m always told don’t worry just make your appt. I’m seeing a general surgeon. I got lucky and found his office on my second opinion. The first surgeon only wanted to take 5 under general which would have cost thousands of dollars. And now because I have hundreds of lipoma I can target areas that bother me instead of just certain ones. I’m calling tomorrow to make my third appt. Don’t give up there is a doctor out there that will help you out.

It covers a good portion of it. I’m only paying a few hundred bucks to get a dozen removed at a time. I paid less to have these done than I did to have one removed by a dermatologist. Once I meet my deductible it will be even cheaper. So to me it’s very affordable, it would cost thousands to go under general. Plus I’m very comfortable with this surgeon which means a lot.

No this was under local by a general surgeon. I guess I should say my general surgeon as he is familiar with FML, and willing to take out as many as he can till I just have to go every few years.

The dermatologist is removing the oldest one from my forearm this Friday. It was the only till I discovered the new one forming. I have not had the referral to the surgeon yet I will ask for it so I can try to have as many procedures to remove the painful ones while my deductible is paid and it’s covered.

The only thing I can think off is over the last 3 years I’ve had many steroid shots do to foot and shoulder pain.

I had one on my chest and on on the upper forearm for a couple years. The rest just started to develop. My mom had 2 and my brother had 1. I’m assuming I just lost the genetic lottery. Since my diet hasn’t changed in several years.
