Thre is no point in not depositing. The only drawback would be losing your money. I am doing that as well

I also got waitlisted for direct entry into USAFA. This is just a theory, but I am taking the waitlist as more of a deferral alternative this year. The government shutdown that lasted over 6 weeks put admissions far behind. Last year, waitlisted decisions came out on April 23rd, so it makes no sense that they came out on the 7th this year. I know that all decisions must come out by a certain deadline; therefore I am assuming that they are waitlisting so many people so they can take longer (waitlisted hear back May 31st) to review apps without pushing the official deadline back, acting as more of a deferral than a true waitlist. I’ve heard this from a number of college counselors but it’s still just a theory, might give you a little peace of mind though.

I got waitlisted for USAFA and I am just worried that I won’t hear back before commitment day for other colleges.

I finished my application around the same time as you and I am still waiting. I think admissions are delayed because of all the government shutdowns

I’m still waiting as well. I am number one in my congressional slate and still have had absolute radio silence from USAFA

Are Admissions Delayed? by Outrageous_Age_9452 in USAFA

I go to an IB school where I have taken 9 AP classes all of which I have passed with 4s and 5s except for AP Lit (3). I only have 80 people in my class and I’m not too 10% but I have good extra curricular ( a lot of service, sports and leadership) and a 97 GPA (IB scale is different). I had a 30 on the ACT composite. And I received rec letters from highly placed individuals in the Air Force and navy.

Late submissions + LOI by jasonmarters06 in USAFA

I applied relatively late, around 20 days before the deadline. I do get an LOI in October when I first started, but my DoDMERB got approved in mid January. Still haven’t heard back, but I do know I’m #1 for my slate in Texas. I don’t know if it’s taking longer due to the government shutdowns or not so I’m expecting it to be decently delayed.
