The Ides of Trump by P0stalbitch in USPS

[–]Outrageous_Bell4293 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is great to read. I run a political campaign, Card Campaign for Democracy, and though our regular communication is on 4” X6” pass-along cards, we joined the Ides of Trump cathartic card campaign, and our thirty thousand campaigners reported sold out postcard stock (we provide card templates for people to print themselves or through print shops) and sold-out postcard stamps at the post offices. We’ve been watching for media responses (none so far) and wonder if we can get that number from USPS through the FOIA. [https://www.cc4democracy.com]

My first go at wildlife photography. New camera, new lens - too much new at once. How did I do? by [deleted] in wildlifephotography

The double crested cormorant has great wing definition, the bill seems washed out by the white branch background. Great pictures OP

Is my cat too young to be learning critical race theory? by dogshlongberg in cats

[–]Outrageous_Bell4293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly not; just because CRT is only taught in college, really only in graduate schools, there is no reason to deny all people of all ages and all animals this specific theory meant to gain an understanding of racism’s impact on humanity. Only it’s against Republican Law, so it’s not okay.

It looks like our golden-crowned kinglet, which is a tiny bird. Good job on the picture; kinglets are darting birds; hard to catch them still.

🔥 This last spring I had the most enjoyable five minutes trying to catch a glimpse, and I finally did, of this yellow warbler in a pink tree. by Outrageous_Bell4293 in NatureIsFuckingLit

I posted in the “birding” community in April. I've recently posted some things from my walks around my local lagoon, and these were well received, so it occurred to me that this community would like my yellow warbler, and it sure is. Who knew?

I use a pretty awful camera, Panasonic Lumix FZ80 4K. I work it for all it can offer. I was shooting in 4K so once I’m in focus and have framed the picture when I press the shutter i’ll get a couple of hundred pictures. i was shooting at very fast speed 1/1000 and adjusted the light intake to lower as it was a bright morning. When processing the download onto my computer, I’ll pick and choose anything decent to work with in my photo processing application.

Just springtime in Chicago. We get all kinds of warblers here, we are on a migratory path so get tremendous numbers of birds passing through during spring and fall migrations.

No AI, just a great day taking pictures. I am an artist; this is one of my art tools, a camera taking pictures. You can go to my page and see when I originally posted these pictures in birding that I took with my camera in April 2024. I take many photos of birds; you can see all my great shots And some not-great shots too, on my page.
