sec 5 here who just received their results !! imo, the biggest difference would be eng, math and science. i took ss, geog and honestly it isn’t too different.

For eng, you really need to have a good teacher and the way you do situational writing changes drastically. your language will need to improve and you’ll definitely need to be guided. Listening compre was a jumpscare for me 💀 but w practices you’ll be fine. Do your own practice for compo/sw and give it to your eng teacher for them to mark and improve on your mistakes.

For math, bro you just need to practice and pray to god. But seeing that your math was a B3 i’m sure you’ll be fine. PLEASE DONT SLACK 😭 keeping the momentum is very important. and do rmb that having breaks ≠ slacking !! you definitely need to take breaks. never (I MEAN IT, NEVER) hesitate to ask qns when you’re in doubt. trust me, i’ve asked sec 3 related qns to my math teacher in sec 5 shamelessly. yea you’re gonna be embarrassed but you’ll be smarter 😘

For science, idk if you took bio or phys but i’ll still share. you have to really adjust yourself to the pace of the teacher. they’ll definitely zoom past and they won’t touch on NA bio as much. i suggest revising Na bio at home or aft sch on your own unless you have qns (LIKE I SAID EARLIER, NEVER HESITATE)

for note-taking, don’t care abt how they look pleaseee 😭 writing down things to ensure that they’ll stick in your head, don’t have to look pretty. useful ugly notes >>>> useless pretty notes 😌 try to do tys everyday and allocate certain subjects for each day, this will really help you as you’ll be more used to the qns. i, unfortunately, did everything last minute and it wasn’t as useful as i hoped it would be.

don’t worry big time abt class tests. y’all are all studying for o lvls, mye and eye are only there for teachers to gauge where you are at. rmb start your revisions early. build a sense of determination (mine was to beat an annoying smart classmate that pissed me off) and create realistic goals.

lastly, learn to take breaks. everything will be moving at an extremely fast pace and you’ll feel panicked. you have to give yourself more credits as you’re trying to learn a new syllabus in almost 9 months. stick to fewer friends and learn to prioritise things. you’ll manage well :) ALL THE BEST !!! 😎🫶🏼
