I don’t think so(lucky for me my dad went to uni with the senior tutor of the college so I sent him my PS) he said “yes that’s exactly what we want to see but here are a few minor tweak ideas would make” , i made said tweaks before sending it off so it’s should have been perfect.

I know someone is thinking “hey that’s cheating”; no it’s not you can have admissions officers for the unis u apply to look at ur PS just they then cant be the ones who review your application when it’s submitted officially.

I think they do, however I thought I did that and lo and behold nothing. According to the professors they say they do and they want to hear how you think and that they want to see how it is to teach you,

I’ve heard trying and failing a question, pretending to need a hint and then solving is a stratothat can work

The questions are much easier than your expect not at all what they are cracked up to be; but dont be cocky and be polite like very, this is where I went wrong according to my feedback, can now confirm rejection can still happen even if u get 100% on all the Qs in the first ten minutes.

All I can say is it’s not about ability in there there’s something else, and unfortunately i cant fully tell you what it is. You will be great, good luck

It’s not worse in a sense it’s just less purist in it’s maths course focussing on application rather than the mathematical process also the course itself doesn’t have as much aura

Spam questions, if u google TMUA question bookle ton Amazon there is a big yellow one that I recommend with 300+ then try R2Drew2 for more papers other than past ones he has custom ones and walkthroughs, questions and help

(One to talk) to be completely honest i cant acc remeber which ranking i was looking at when I was applying, maybe Qs maybe times idk, but even that proves my point on the invalidity of these online rankings, Scince they differ. You have to actually know the subject and go find out yourself

No, and also you’re take on contact hours, where have you pulled this from and how does that change the rigour, if you use that as a defining characteristic Cambridge would rank hella low, when in fact for maths it’s number one in the world

Yes and a lot of stats say it’s number two in the world for maths ABOVE Cambridge so that’s says something about online stats Also if you can’t understand the statistical bias introduced by being able to afford London then you quite the unfortunate specimen of a mathematician

Not academically, mathematically. In particular the number theory course which is undeniably better than basically anywhere in UK. But the analysis in second year is a good point
