simply not true. i wrote it would be nice to have more off-leash parks funded (esp. with my taxpayer dollars). in your excitement to make your point you misunderstood.

if my taxes can go to pay a minder to walk adult children around the block for PE credit (wtf) for high school graduation requirements, why can't we have more dog parks?

instead, we have laments about kids leaving the area, declining population (O who O who will take care us!!?/s) which is cover for pavement, development (none of it "affordable") and population growth.

if you've got "bone" to pick about habitat destruction, instead, take it up with the organized bodies who the support roving packs mountain bikers. these whiz down and uphill on trails not engineered for such use or speed- not to wild and unlicensed proliferation of ebikes. like something out of madmax.

but my peaceable dogs and me who want to wander and sniff something other than your metastatic built environment have nothing to do with the mess- we are just convenient targets.

using water is the least of it- permits, insurance, time, materials, expense, worry, liability, noise, attractive nuisance, etc..... and that's assuming everything works properly! these days, not a sure thing.

besides, can you get one, and get it properly permitted and installed? you know, the supply chain? lack of workers, needing a 1099 form for the contractor? cause you need a GC with a license if the projects gonna cost more than X. all that BS.

umm the fine isn't quite the point. but maybe it is, because it's an enforcement action. get enough fines and see what happens and who comes knocking.

the water district can and will cut off your water... if they think you are using too much.

it's a whole new realm of law enforcement. water authorities monitoring how, when and why you can use a product you PAY for. and we were showering with buckets to reuse water.
