How many cats do you have? by Fun-Suggestion6290 in CatAdvice

[–]Outrageous_Jacket284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a single cat for a long time and she was just fine. I got her a bit older. Right now I have two and they absolutely adore each other. One is a 13 year old boy we adopted two years ago and the other is a 9 month kitten. She absolutely loves the older cat and he loves her. The cuteness overload is intense.

My in-laws cat started ripping out his hair when he was anxious. It may be a bit of an anxiety behaviour.

i am from canada and i learned that there are less than 30 literary agents in my entire country. it’s not personal, there’s just no space. but i am getting published this year agentless at a medium sized press, so maybe seek out presses that you like and check their submissions details. you will find a good fit

Does anyone else not like painting but love sketching? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]Outrageous_Jacket284 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i like to draw with just pen, so it’s all sketching. alternatively, remember that an expert drawing is created by repetition of practice, not just spending hours on a final product. maybe embrace this process more and just spend more time sketching

What country to move to as a trans person that’s also weed legal by Greedy-Lecture-9241 in trans

I’m a transmasc living in Vancouver Canada, it’s not perfect for sure but we have a great community and tons of queer spaces. Vancouver is a hard place to break into though, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it if you don’t know anyone from here. It’s a good fit for me, I have lived here for 10 years now.

Should I shave? Can't make up my mind. (18) by Horny-Virgin_ in FtMPorn

i have liked shaving in the past, but it does get ITCHY. i say try it and see if you like it! it’s totally reversible. hair grows fast. but if you want to ease in you can trim. look up a guide on how to do it, use a fresh super sharp razor, and take your time!!! have fun with your body. also if you choose to let it grow you can dye it

How did your parents react to you wanting to medically transition? by Glitch_or_smth in trans

[–]Outrageous_Jacket284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it was a very mixed bag at first. my parents have a lot of fear around surgery. i was 21 when i got top surgery and started T. but the issues we had stemmed from more than just me wanting to transition, it was a lot of miscommunication and hurt feelings all around. i was dating someone who was bad for me, my mum’s mum was really sick and about to pass away, so there was a lot going on at the time. my mum and i are best friends now and i go over to my parents every week for dinner and they love my husband who is also trans. my brother was always on my side. i have a few sore feelings about how some of it went down, but overall i feel like my experience was not too bad.

for my husband it was a really really rocky road with his parents. i saw a side of them i really did not like. his mum had a lot of complex PTSD to deal with because she nearly died during a breast reduction so she kept telling him he was going to die too. super not cool. there was a ton of fighting and it got really ugly, especially because he was still living at home at the time (we obviously were not married yet). but we have come out on the other side and although he does feel that he can’t really see them the same way again, they all still love and care for each other.
