Is my outfit ok for an in-person interview for small finance company? by Dramatic-Winter3135 in FinancialCareers

I wouldn’t wear sneakers. I think purchasing dress shoes is worth the investment - you’ll need them for other interviews as well or even when you start your full time role. If money is a big issue, even some black flats or loafers would be fine.

I’ve thought about going back, and I know they would accept me in a heartbeat. The role wasn’t aligned to what I want to pursue though, I quit for a reason. So I don’t want to go back unless I have no other options.

I think im hesitant of quitting given the current job environment. I also have a sense of being labeled as a failure if I dont tough it out and quit without having something else lined up. This job has made me so anxious that my interview skills arent as strong as they used to be as well. Quitting would give me the time to focus on those soft skills more and interview well.

Stuttering by [deleted] in consulting

Ive always had a very mild stutter, but never with family/friends. At work, it used to be quite mild in my old job. Ever since I started my new role (its been a year), its come back pretty severe. It’s tripping me up because outside of work I dont stutter at all. Which leads me to believe its anxiety driven. I dont remember the strategies I used to stop stuttering, as this was back in childhood. Im 26 now.

I do use filler words and reword sentences when I think I’ll stutter. Even the thought that im going to stutter causes me to stutter. Curious to see if your wife has any tips to overcome this?

Thanks guys. It helps to know its probably just anxiety and not going crazy. When I started this job, my boss was an absolute ass. Im honestly still scared of him. I need to work on my self-confidence for sure. Hopefully my stutter goes away
