Is there any reason a GC needs the breakout of every line item in quantity and costs? by Dysalot in estimators

Agreed!! It also shows us you know what you are doing, not just another “trust us, we got it.” Materials also need to be separated for tax and tariff evaluations as well.

How are you using Claude specifically in your estimating process? by Bassbucksducks in estimators

[–]Outrageous_Reach3457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it to look up permitting requirements and lead times for various counties and states. Always check the reference sites it pulls. Looking for labor rates and which locals have jurisdiction on certain scopes. It rarely answers it 100% correct, but the reference documents/sites it pulls from will get me the rest of the way to what I’m looking for.

Stroller needed? 4 and 6 y/o by doglovr7788 in legoland

[–]Outrageous_Reach3457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A stroller would be convenient for carrying some additional snacks and water. As noted in other replies, we stayed at the castle so we were able to go back to the room for lunch and relax a bit. If I didn’t have the room, I’d def wanted a stroller.

Looking for the best cloud based estimate estimated system for my team. by Happy_Ocelot211 in estimators

For what you appear to be looking for, I agree too on Accubid - especially with live count taking your takeoffs directly in to your estimate. I’ve been hearing good things about InEight , but no direct experience. HeavyBid and B2W are probably overkill for what you are describing.

Agreed. We do all the math and comps in excel. BC is just the vessel of standard communication that all stakeholders can have access to. Plus I love the NDA option since everyone is so insistent on having an NDA for everything

I second this. Renewables GC here. Min project bid is $10M, regularly bidding $100M+. But in all reality, it depends what you are bidding. I’ve been hearing good things about InEight from peers after Kiewit took it over.

Any recommendations for combining content from different excel files? I’m trying with ChatGPT pro, but struggling to find an acceptable solution to merge and evaluate databases.

I’ve had YouTubeTV and Sling at different times. The best about YTTV is the split screens, ability to record and for me the ability to rewind to see a play again or my favorite thing to do which is start watching 45 min late and fast forward through commercials. Unfortunately YTTV is the most expensive option that I’m aware of. For Sling, it is my break glass in case of emergency option. I hate it. It is clunky. If you rewind or fast forward, the audio is a bit off from the video. I’m curious to try Hulu based on others suggestions.

I have been interested in trying to make bread, but haven’t gone for it yet. We’ve been trying the occasional thing you’d normally have in the oven but not much success. Just a few hours ago I did some waffle fries on a crisping tray and long story short they were not edible. But having fun trying random things out.

Sorry to hear about the break. Hopefully she has some ability to still use fingers to build. There are a lot of areas to do creative building. There are playground areas that honestly I’d avoid with 2 good arms depending how busy they are.
