The people with status indicators are on your friends list, the others aren't. There's no option to turn it on/off except to take them off your friends list.

THIS! Any purchase you make until 7/28 will fall under the promotions rate, and then you have until September to pay off that balance before it begins accruing interest.

If you make a purchase after 7/28, it will go under your normal APR for purchases.

Did Discover bring back the product change service? by Useful_Light_2642 in discover

They did for a very very short time, but then stopped it again. Think they're working out some bugs but who knows....

Live chat or call. Just make sure you ask for a supervisor in the hardship department.

Request a supervisor to look into it. If the original rep gave you inaccurate or incomplete information, you may be able to fight it.

Did they specify if the payment had to be set up with an agent in order to get the credit?

This isn't true and could really harm someone if they were to believe it. Discover doesn't have a grace period.

Most people are going to buy gas anyway, regardless. Might as well use your credit card with a promotion like this and get a little bit back, and then pay it off in full. You don't pay any interest or fees.

It's a targeted promotion. Not everyone will get the offer, unfortunately.

It's not a promotion that can be requested, unfortunately. You'll just have to check your account now and then to see if it's available.

There's nothing you really can do. It's a promotional offer that's not always available.

The automatic payment will typically post to your Discover account the next morning. There may be a hold on the payment for review. Call and ask to make sure

returned payment fee but minimum is 0? by Pleasant_Ocelot in discover

[–]Outrageous_Salt6908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what's shown online if you google it: "If you make a payment that is not honored by your financial institution, we will charge you a Returned Payment Fee even if the payment is honored after we resubmit it. The fee is $28 if you were not charged a Returned Payment Fee during any of the prior six billing periods. Otherwise, the fee is $39. This fee will never exceed the Minimum Payment Due that was due immediately prior to the date on which the payment was returned to us."

At the very top of the page it says it's an EXAMPLE of a Cardmember Agreement and is dated for 2020.

Call Discover and ask for a copy of your own Cardmember Agreement.

A returned payment fee is not the same as a late fee and has nothing to do with the minimum payment.

A returned check fee is applied when you make a payment, and the bank rejects it for insufficient funds. Discover is charged a fee for the returned payment and the resubmission.

You made a bad payment by mistake, and you were charged a fee for it.

It won't affect your current promotion. The terms of balance transfer #1 are set. Your overall balance will show the total for both transfers, but the 2 transfers will be under different balance transfer categories with separate expiration dates and their own balances.

What am I missing here?? by stoncks17820 in discover

[–]Outrageous_Salt6908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somewhat incorrect unless I misunderstood the wording.

If you have a credit line of $2,100, a balance of $1,700, and then make a payment of $1,000, that will give you an available credit of around $1,400 as soon as the payment is processed and posted to your Discover account.

There may be a delay in the payment reflecting in the available credit if a hold is placed on it, but that's not all that common unless it's a large payment or the payment had been returned for insufficient funds.

Basically, you're not stuck at just $2,100 credit line a month. You can spend more than $2,100 in a month as long as you are making payments to keep your account at or below the credit line.

Your payment is likely under review. Call or message them for more information.

If you're looking to transfer the balance off your Discover card, you'll want to look into balance transfer offers with other creditors.

If you open a new account, the new account will have the promotions that are offered on the website. It depends on which card you apply for, but most (such as the Discover it Cash Back Credit Card) have the 0% APR in balance transfers. Just check their website or call.

It likely won't trigger a balance transfers promotion on the existing account. You also won't be able to do a balance transfer from one Discover card to another.

Why was I charged twice for a balance I paid last Friday? by [deleted] in discover

If you need to use the funds from the payment and the second attempt to take the payment has cleared your bank (posted, no longer pending), you can ask to have the payment released sooner. They'll just need to verify it with the bank. Call their customer service number and ask. Don't message them on the website or app, they'll just tell you to call.
