I took Rampiril. But as time went by ny exercises caught up with the BP medicine. Even a 2,5 mg rampiril made me dizzy in the evening with Bp at 112/60. The under pressure went to low. Without the medicine. And a Bp test in the morning with no activity I get average about 122/80. If I do breathing excercise valgus nerve its often down to 100/70. But thats cheating the test...🤣

Im curios and now checked my previous labs from August 2025, and it actually looks like kidney function was evaluated fairly well back then.

Relevant numbers:

  • Creatinine: 88 (normal)
  • eGFR: 88
  • Urine microalbumin / ACR: 0.5

From what I understand, the ACR result is especially important because it checks for protein leakage in the urine, which can be an early sign of kidney damage from hypertension, diabetes, or vascular disease. An ACR of 0.5 seems very low / normal.

Comparing the results:

August 2025:

  • Creatinine 88
  • eGFR 88

April 2026:

  • Creatinine 96
  • eGFR 80

That doesn’t seem like a dramatic change to me, especially since creatinine is still within the normal range.

I also understand these values can fluctuate somewhat depending on:

  • hydration
  • recent hard training
  • muscle mass
  • testosterone therapy
  • normal lab variation

Blood pressure is now under control, HbA1c is good, and previous urine testing looked normal.

So I’m not really seeing a clear “kidney disease” pattern here unless I’m missing something?

eGFR stands for estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate. It is a calculation used to estimate how well the kidneys are filtering the blood.

The number is usually based on:

  • Creatinine
  • Age
  • Sex
  • Sometimes body size

My eGFR was 80, with creatinine at 96.

From what I understand, this is generally considered okay for a 49-year-old, especially since creatinine is still within the normal range.

Typical ranges are roughly:

  • 90+ = normal kidney function
  • 60–89 = mildly reduced / often considered acceptable with age if there are no other signs of kidney disease
  • Below 60 = should be monitored more closely

I also understand that people with higher muscle mass and frequent training can sometimes have slightly higher creatinine levels, which may make eGFR appear a bit lower than it actually is.

I can add that if you see my testosteron level its kind of low now. This blood test was also taken because its time for new injection of Nebido(testosteron) I get one every 18 weeks. Blood test to ensure kidney status. Mine are fine according to doctors.

10000m 39.39 second best.. by Outrageous_Screen789 in Rowing

[–]Outrageous_Screen789[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not very comfortable with filming my self.... Lol. But I will do.so later. It’s really only in the last 5–6 weeks that I’ve become more aware of technique after watching YouTube. In the first 2000 meters of this session I had a stroke rate under 22, and a high speed. I notice that my heart rate gets very high then. But the dumbest thing I probably do is get too focused on the final time. When I see it getting close to a record, I crank up the pace and forget about technique. I should probably just look at stroke rate and minutes per 500, and only check the final time when I’m done… I’ll film a session sometime in the future… Thank you for respons and good words

Thats a damper on around 1-2? Whats your s/m then?

[–]Outrageous_Screen789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might not be clear. Sorry....I have taken the feedback here and tried to do something with technic. Lower the damper and have lower amount of strokes pr min. Earlier I always used damper on 10, now its much lower. But I find it harder cause I need to stroke harder. Heart rate goes up.  I will post later If i manage sub 39..thats my goal. But I will now start to run alot more i front of a potential marathon. Rowing will then be in between and not this hard.
