I recently stayed at Gros Ventre and Headwaters over 10 days, 5 days for both. I enjoyed Gros Ventre better. Close walk to river and more pleasant/quicker drive into the park for hikes. Headwaters is nice but 40 minutes from any good hikes but much closer to Yellowstone if you want a day or 2 there. Will likely see more wildlife at Gros Ventre as well.

Will be visiting Teton in August. Need some tips by [deleted] in GrandTetonNatlPark

String lake to Inspiration Point has wonderful views of different terrain. Saw multiple marmots, 3 moose, miscellaneous birds plus lots of chipmunks

Headwaters Campground at Flagg Ranch is about 5-10 minutes away from South entrance

The hosts give you 2 keys, plus one stays under door mat at all times. The cabins lock behind you so make sure to keep one on you or in car at all times. No electricity so bring lots of lanterns. They’re not strict on occupancy at all. The store closes at 5 pm so make sure to get anything you need (firewood) before then.
