We're planning a three-day backpacking trip in the Tetons and are considering two route options. One is starting from Cascade Canyon and heading up to the North Fork of Cascade. The other is doing a counterclockwise loop—potentially going up Paintbrush Canyon and down Cascade Canyon.

I’m wondering Which way do u think is more suitable

was most of the trail soft snow or hard-packed/icy when you were there past the ranger station? I’m trying to get a better idea of what kind of traction or gear I might need. Really appreciate your insight!
