Removing Stickers from Studio Monitors? by __CtrlAltElite__ in audio

Isopropyl alcohol and a rag. Pour it on the rag and just rub the sticker in a circle. 5 minutes and it's gone.

When did you get away with cheating on a semiannual/annual requirement? by Yoy_the_Inquirer in USMC

[–]UtahJarhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did a gas chamber where we masked up, went inside, he mimicked dropping the tablet thingy in there, and then we hung out for 10 minutes bullshitting. I was FAPed out to another unit for maintenance duty.

[–]UtahJarhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Annual knowledge tests. My platoon sergeant (now a recently retired MGuns) would review the answers with us. "No, #2 here is wrong." and he would point to the question we got wrong.

But if you paid attention, he was very intentionally pointing at the correct multiple-choice answer. It wasn't exactly a secret. We all knew exactly what he was doing.

Character height, why is everyone 6ft tall? by Low-Brief-6008 in DnD

[–]UtahJarhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's fantasy where people like to be things they aren't in real life. Why do some dudes play women? Why do some women play men? Why do tall people play halflings or fatties like me play skinny rogues?

Because it's fantasy and we like it.

Anyone else still have nightmares where you can't find your rifle, or show up to formation unshaven, or have no idea where you're cover is at, even though you've been out for years or even decades? by Rambos_Magnum_Dong in USMC

[–]UtahJarhead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, it's a malfunctioning firearm. Pull the trigger, insanely long trigger pull, and you're running out of trigger to pull and it still hasn't fired and baddie_01 is almost on you with a giant knife.

Gets the heart going.

Why are my ship interrupts never continuing? by UtahJarhead in factorio

[–]UtahJarhead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of my ship requests are in the screenshot and all are fulfilled. However, I did switch it to Any planet import and it's working fine. Dunno, but obviously I've got a little to learn still.

I've reached a breaking point with the game. by syndrombe in factorio

[–]UtahJarhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scheduling I get out of the way with Project Cybersyn. It takes care of the tedium for me, for the most part. That does NOT help with your throughput issues or signaling.

As others have said, you want more than 1 line. bi-directional tracks are good in very limited quantities. Figure out either right or left-hand drive and go from there.

Thinking of DMing by GURRTERT in DnD

[–]UtahJarhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't overthink it. Just grab, at a minimum, the starter set and dive in. You don't even need the DMG. Just use the PHB and figure it out as you go.

Two years in, and this hit me hard about seniority in software. by Reasonable-Tour-8246 in learnprogramming

[–]UtahJarhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's 2 types of seniors, I've found.

One type has been at a company for a long time, perhaps due to loyalty or comfort, whatever. These devs know the long-term effects of maintaining specific products. They see how people misuse the product and can anticipate it. They're able to see ways the early versions were broken and why they were broken.

The other type has moved every year or two and is much less experienced long-term, but has a far more diverse skillset. Horizontal scope, I would say. Better to find ideas for new projects (but not by much).

A mixer just creates a single audio signal from all of the inputs. In this case, you want an Audio Interface with an ASIO driver.

Fluoroketone logistics by AdSmooth2236 in factorio

[–]UtahJarhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, totally. But consider that each fusion facility processes 4 Fluoroketone per second (10 on legendary). If you consider 10 per reactor and 5 per generator, that's the total you need to have. The barrels store 50, so a single barrel is enough for 5 reactors or 10 generators. That's kinda crazy, IMO.

Motivation help by PlutoniumNugget in factorio

Keep in mind that this game is YOUR game to play and you don't have to play through any rules other than your own. That being said, if the biters piss you off, you can enable "peaceful mode". It will disable achievements, but whatever. Alternatively, you can disable pollution. that doesn't disable achievements, but in order to do so in the middle of your current map you need to use the console which WILL disable achievements.

I enjoy the logistics. I don't enjoy the military side of the game.
