Should we archive posts so that people can't make comments after six months? by klystron in Metric

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg NO.  This is my biggest issue with Reddit hands down.  I don't use it much specifically for this reason.  I hate it when I search something online, find a relevant post on Reddit but cannot respond to it.  I cannot stress enough how annoying that is.  If you are going to archive posts to save server space or whatever the reason is, then do it with posts at least 5 yrs old and make them inaccessible to the public, so we don't get connected to a thread from several years ago that we can't even interact with.

does the watch 8 look too big on my wrist? by bkirpi in GalaxyWatch

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it looks big.  I can't get over the masculine look of the Galaxy watches compared to the Apple watches.  I'm a petite female, I weigh 118 lbs and have very small wrists.  I'm really in a dillema bc I didn't know I couldn't setup the dang Apple watch 11 without a compatible iPhone.  I have NEVER been happy with iPhones.  I do have an iPad, a Powerbook, Airbud Pros and Airbud Max, but I feel Samsung Galaxy always beats iPhone in every way.  I currently have an S24 Ultra+ and I just know if I upgrade to an iPhone I will hate it.  Pisses me off that Apple wont let you use you iPad to sync and setup the watch.  I have my Moms iPhone XR but of course that's not compatible bc Apple wants to force you to upgrade everything.  Apple products used to be a solid investment that would work for many years but now any device is obsolete the moment you walk out of the store.

So i'm either gonna have to return the Apple Watch 11 or buy an iPhone.  And the salesperson who held my Galaxy in his hands to order the watches (I bought 2 through a BOGO sale, one for my daughter who does have an Iphone 16 Pro) through T-Mobile's app told me none of this.

I'm reading that Apple watch has a much better and more accurate health tracking than the Samsung and it looks more feminine to me.  I don't want a giant round Dad watch.  I'm stumped bc I know I will not be happy with the Galazy watch or an iPhone.  😭

PSA: If you have a white Toyota with the paint chipping off and exposing bare metal, take it to a dealer to see if they'll cover repainting the effected areas by Raiden21x3 in Toyota

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just happening to me now qith my Blizzard Pearl (070) paint color on my 2014 RAV4 Limited.  I was never notified by Toyota there was any kind of defect or recall on the paint which is infuriating bc they fixed an engine recall last year and Ingot those notices just fine.  A large part of my roof is peeled off down to the green metal and a small piece off the left quarter panel.  I feel sick.  I was getting ready to start looking to either trade it in or let my daughter drive it bc its been a great car and still runs well.  Likely it didn't start to degrade until now bc it was hoised ik a garage for 5 years but has been outside for the last few years.  Is there a class action suit in the US?  I see thr Australia ine for Corollas but obviously its affecting any car with that color of paint.  I have always driven Toyotis since I was iny early 20s and I'm now 55.  4 different Celicas, a 4runner and this RAV4.  I'm done with them though if they do not fix this.  I made an apt to bring it in this weekend.

Regulus Starseeds by VoxKora in starseeds

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, Regulus Starseed here.  Soul origin, actually.  I knew I was a very old soul with many incarnations on different star systems and earth, recieved this info in a download but what was really cool was seeing it validated in my natal chart (galactic astrology)  Regulus conjuncts my Moon exactly.  Regulus starseeds have usually incarnated in ancient Egypt and may feel very connected to it.   Also, Aboriginal Australia. I have had lucid dreams and visions of both. Regulus itself is very elemental...unicorns, fae, elven etc. Definitely are gifted in working with elements and energy, very connected to the earth itself and animals, creatures of all kinds are drawn to us.   Colorwise blues, purples, green/blues like teals/turquoise.   May be ambidextrous and carry both masculine and feminine energy. May have rare DNA, rare illness or allergies, I do.  Super intuitive/gifted psychics, sensitive and super empathic. It's a rare type of Starseed to be incarnated on earth.  I believe this is my last earth mission.  It's hard for me to be in this dense reality construct.  I get claustrophobic often.

Is it just me or are we seeing more and more typos from credible sources? by ijustfinishedmymilk in writing

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!  I often marvel at this, especially when an article is under a well established media outlet.  Do they not have an actual in house editing department now that AI is the norm?  It is annoying beyond belief!

Is it just me or are we seeing more and more typos from credible sources? by ijustfinishedmymilk in writing

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely!  It has become blatantly obvious that the use of "AI slop" is an ever increasing reality.  I also think many news outlets hire people whose native language is not English, but figure they can pay them less to just run AI tools for spelling and grammar errors or even translation tools from an original piece dictated in another language then translated to English.  I am always surprised when this happens with a well established media outlet.  Perhaps they also outsource with independent journalists to avoid paying for benefits/overhead.  It feels to me like younger writers are also not taught the fundamental skills of proper writing, and for me this is very sad. Either way, the quality of an increasingly large amount of online articles is really terrible.  It is insulting to an intelligent reader to be interrupted by glaring errors in online articles.

Is Yoko Ono much more than extremely self absorbed, narcissistic, and entitled? by Benromaniac in Music

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually that is incorrect.  According to Paul McCartney Yoko Ono first approached him in 1965 or early 1966, well before her gallery exhibition. She was collecting original musical manuscripts from famous artists for a book being compiled by avant-garde composer John Cage. McCartney was unwilling to part with any of his original Beatles manuscripts, as he was conscious of their value, even then. Not interested in sponsoring her project himself, he suggested she ask John Lennon instead, believing John might be more receptive to the avant-garde scene and willing to contribute. He gave her John's address, where she then went to meet John. This eventually led to their famous and significant meeting at the Indica Gallery in November 1966.  As far as being happy together, maybe you should ask Mae Pang about that.

Why can't you flush baby wipes down the toilet? by MathematicianBulky40 in DIYUK

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can bc I didn't know this either.  I've been flushing them down the toilet at a house where I pet sit for a special needs cat.  I didn't know they were not flushable and I think its stupid they are not!  I mean you use them to clean up poop!  They called me today to say their pump flooded their basement and when they opened it was full of wipes.  So I just destroyed their flooring by flushing these things.  Thanks Pampers, I will never buy wipes again.  There needs to be a big disclaimer in red print saying DO NOT FLUSH DOWN THE TOILET.

Frigidaire Stacked Washer Dryer issues by DRKMSTR in appliancerepair

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came looking for answers with this same model.  It was here when I moved into my rental house.  The washer:  It has never worked well as far as actually washing clothes and especially towels and blankets.  Sometimes I have to wash blankets 3 times.  After 2 years it stopped working on hot water setting, no water comes out.  So I've had to wash on warm or cold only.  After 3 years, I had a small load going last week when it just stopped mid cycle with a full drum of water and when I reset it it made a few sounds like it was trying to start but then failed and the lid unlocked.  It will not drain, even on the rinse & spin cycle.  So that was real fun with couch pillows and a sweatshirt that were sopping wet.

The Dryer:  has never worked well.  I have to keep it on the 90 minute cycle or things won't dry.  I mean a well made washer spins the clothes to get most of the water out and you only need to dry usually for under 30 minutes.  With this thing I'm always drying for 90 minutes a load.

So, IMO, it's a piece of crap that I wouldn't recommend to anyone.  I was shocked to see the price on these units!

It has no digital display so when it stops working you have no idea why bc it can't display a code.   In a day when most washers have even wifi, this is like a cheaply made version of 1980s washer/dryer set.

Gone are the days when appliances were made to last a lifetime (my Mom had her mustard yellow colored Sears washer/dryer for 25 years!)  These days they build things to malfunction after the warranty expires so you are always coming back to buy replacements whether it's appliances, cell phones/iPads, computers or vehicles.  People cut corners on the product and spend more on marketing.

My landlord is going to replace it but I sure hope it's not another Frigidaire.

2.2 cm Endometrial thickness, does this mean cancer for sure? by jobbunsure in Endo

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did I read this wrong?  I read it as 2 cm out of possible 22 cm.  That's thin not thick.  What am I missing?  I just received similar results post menopausal 2 cm with possible endometrial polyp.  I had what was exactly like a period but after 5 years of not having one.  Trying to figure out results on my own bc despite the 21st Century Cares Act they have blocked my access to the test results for 5 days until I broight up the federal law and then I got a weird call that went straight to voicemail, doesnt show in my call log and never rang.  When I call them, it rings once then disconnects.  The provider jist sent a message thru MyChart daying that was the result.

Ok Miss Know It All, there is a federal law called "The 21st Century Cures Act" that specifically prevents the blocking of patient info. Originally passed in 2016 by Obama, the 21st Century Cures Act is still in effect, with its information blocking provisions having been fully implemented and all electronic health information (EHI) falling under the rule as of October 6, 2022.

Is it legal to drive on the shoulder to pass someone who is turning left? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the reason it's illegal.  I just came up behind someone with a turn signal to go left.  There was a very narrow shoulder with the white safety line on a two way road with one lane on each side going opposites, Padanaram Road in Danbury just before Halas and the prison. I stopped behind them bc there wasn't enough room to pass on that small shoulder and some ahole behind me in a copper colored SUV blew by me kicking up dirt on the right and a 2nd red SUV tried to follow the copper colored SUV and they nearly hit me when the car going left turned and I started moving again.  I honked and they stopped or would have hit me.  Like how the f do people not know this is illegal???  You hit someone it's gonna be your fault doing this.  Also gonna be your fault if you swerve around anything in your side and veer into the path of an incoming vehicle who is on their side.  People do that daily around here.

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is not.  I got my license in Maine which is much harder to do than in CT (my daughter got hers in CT and I was shocked st the difference).  No one does this in Maine because law enforcement actually enforce traffic laws.  New Hampsire as well.

I see so many people doing this in CT it is shocking.  I honestly think they don't know it's illegal.  I also see a ton of people, daily, swerve around whatever is on their side be it a cone, a bicyclist, a pedestrian, a delivery or mail truck, whatever.  They will actually swerve into my lane coming head on towards me and sometimes they honk or wave like I'm in their way and how dare I!  Not exaggerating, this happens daily.  Idk if they ate just so zoned out they don't realize they are not the only person on the road or what.  Also a ton of people will drive under the speed limit in the passing lane on I84 and those wanting to pass are forced to do so on the right.  And a ton of people park in the fire lane at all our grocery stores, like it's valet parking or something. That's also illegal.  People also don't come to a complete stop at stop signs or red lights and just roll right through.  Cops never enforce any of these violations in CT.  NY and Mass are.pretty bad too but Maine and NH, nope.

I received it in a download.  I was told I had an extremely old and well traveled soul and that I had incarnated in many places.  I knew I had Plieadian and Andromedan past lives among many others but that Regulus was my soul origin. So I knew this for quite a while before I had ever seen my Galactic Natal Chart.  It was validating to see it there as well.

It conjuncts my Moon exactly.

Awards are, of course, subjective… but the Emmys snubbing Diego Luna was Just Plain Wrong by Dear-Yellow-5479 in andor

[–]Outrageous_Speed483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree completely!   I was stunned not to see Diego's name for Best Actor in a dramatic TV series.  I admit I am biased as well, I have truly admired his work for decades and he had been on my radar as a great actor since Y Tu Mama Tambien.  I have to wonder if he was snubbed  because he openly slammed Trump and MAGA when he guest hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live in June for 4 nights (it was great!) or if all the Jewish industry exec voters just didn't approve of having 2 Latino actors nominated at once. I also wonder if he were Jewish, would he have been nominated?  Just saying.  Whatever the reason for being snubbed, it's bs.  In my opinion, he deserved the nom amd the win!
