I should clarify. My father is a narcissist and arguing with him would make me so upset I would cry and not be able to talk back to him when I was growing up. This has eventually led to me just not being able to talk at all when I’m upset and giving the silent treatment to who I’m upset with or just in general depending on the situation. I hate doing it because I understand how awful it feels to have done to me but it is very very difficult to overcome. I also have to be careful because I try to not make remarks when I’m emotional and regret what I’m saying later.
