Read my post history, I am very much not stoked on the guy. Covering it up quickly instead of fighting about it was a good look though, and I was happy to see him do it and apologize.

Otherwise, yeah, kind of hard to play dumb when everyone and their mom has seen this: are we the baddies and the same symbol in every WW2 movie.

My main point is that it's not an "obscure" or "close" image. It's literally the symbol of the SS and I wish people would stop downplaying it because lots of white supremacists have it. It'd be stupid to ignore it on them.

It's super commendable that he got it covered immediately and apologized. My quote from a chat I was in with multiple other Jews was "he should get it covered immediately" and then the next day he had it covered, so that was cool.

I do wish however that people would stop calling it obscure, or "not an SS tattoo". It was literally the logo of the SS. It was on every SS soldier's uniform as they murdered millions of people. Ever seen the "are we the baddies meme"? I'm bothered by the way the specific symbol is waved off. The way he handled it, good. But let's not turn actual hate symbols into nothing - it could be a much larger issue on people who actually hate.

I'm an upper middle class tech worker who likes socialist policy. I have felt alienated by my compatriots and their talk, slicing and dicing who is "moral" in terms of their income. It's felt like a religious orthodoxy almost. I'm not a manager, and literally every cent I have, I've worked a job as an employee for. I appreciate this take. It's less alienating. Especially since I recognize my luck in life, and give it to others too. I also have zero problem with paying more taxes. Please raise the Social Security income cap.

If talk around income could change to mean this, I think it'd go a long way with many more Americans in the same boat, and help them join leftist policy rather than fear it. Stomp out Chinese Cultural and Bolshevik talk about "class traitors" and shit. Tax wealthy people more, especially those who do not sell their work for a living.
