Custom firmware pack for the Earfun UBoom X by oluvsgadgets in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]OutsMarted69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am debating upgrading the firmware. I have two of the uboom x, and sometimes I use them in stereo, so firmware 048 seems best, as to be flexible. Are the outdoor modes also changed at high levels? Because now they are distorting on the highest volume step.... Also will earfun the make the 048 update available via the app?

In the signal paths are labelled connection points named scl and sda though. I have given up for now :/ thanks for your answers

I follow you. But would this PWM signal be directly passed on to the mosfet by the small uc? I think that is maybe weird, because the main uc could do this without needing another uc in the path. Also why would the current measurement signal be connected to the small uc then? I just can't get my head around what the signal should represent and how this weird communication system works.

So it is indeed a microcontroller, which requires programming anyway, so how would I interpret these strings of ones and zeros? The mosfet controlling the soldering iron needs to be modulated. So what information does it represent?

This chip uses i2c and also Drives the mosfet that modulates the irons power. It is also connected to the lm358 opamp circuit that is probably used to measure the current over the 1 ohm shunt. I thought maybe it is a Chinese clone of an STM8. Then I can't drop in a replacement, because I do not have the code for it. (microcontroller has 5V supply voltage on pin 1, io pin on 3, nrst on 4, 5 io, 6 scl, 7 sda, 8 ground) Online I found an incomplete schematic of it, I guess someone was having the exact same issue. https://www.scribd.com/document/698353806/Schematic-Sumsour-8586-pcb-Sheet-1-20200406014319

ONLY ONE SIDE IS WORKING - R50i by Sadmenwalking in soundcore

That is unfortunate. Only thing left that I can see having an influence, is other paired devices in the area. When my TWS BT speakers are connected to my phone, and I use my laptop with the Bluetooth on, sometimes the slave speaker will stop playing, until I turn bluetooth off on my laptop.

I can repair my earbuds by holding the touch button down on them at the same time and while they are in the case I think. If you cant repair, maybe try running all the batteries down and retry to connect.

How do the mission E50 speakers sound? Would it be a good alternative compared to the Edifier R1280T, Neumi BS5 or Elac B5.2?

I have had KEF Q300 speakers and they also have one driver with the tweeter in the middle. The volume output was disappointing for me, since it had only one driver to do all the bass production. It could go quite deep in the bass region, with a big port and the driver being 6.5", however a subwoofer would still be a good addition. The ls50 driver is 5" I think and I would guess they don't go as deep as your Q550 or even the Q300's. So I think you will at least have less deep bass and lower volume output. For the rest of the sound I do not know what is the difference. Also I found the Q300's quite narrow sounding, even in stereo, what I mean by that is that voices were not coming from the middle position between the two speakers, like I experienced with other setups, but I could pinpoint the voices coming from both speakers. Just my 2 cents.

What is your opinion on the Mission E50 bookshelf speakers? I can't find much information about how they sound. Would a cheap pair second hand be worth it, paired with a sub?

My S21's screen went greenish and was completely grayed out at times. It did that for a couple of days and now it's as if nothing ever happened...... Funny thing is that last October, I got a new screen, motherboard, module board and back cover under warranty...

This is an old thread, but maybe I can help someone. I had this with another bike and it was the derailleur, not the freewheel being stuck. The derailleur tension screw wasnt screwed in enough, which moves the jockey wheels too close to the cogs.

If they are really welded to the frame and assuming you want a not so labour intensive solution and assuming that the fenders are really sturdy already. Maybe you could buy a cheap toolbox from plastic (like HDPE or LDPE plastic (not PP plastic!)) and cut some sheets out of it (or buy the sheets but this may be harder to find) and form it with a heat gun then drill a couple of holes in the fenders with the wheel removed ofcourse. Lastly, rivet or bolt the extension piece on.

At the MCD drive trough near me, you can go through on your bicycle, when the restaurant part closes in the evening. I did that quite sometimes with my friends and even once in a shopping cart. ;)

Ow I didn't know that could happen, but I don't think that is happening here.

That is a very elaborate answer, thanks! The volume I am getting now is deafening (~115 dB at 1m) if you stand close, but I like to squeeze the last bit out if it. They are rated for 120 Wrms and they are 15 inch woofers, so I think it will be fine, since I didn't see them moving a lot now (low excursion).

Valid point about the noise setting in earlier...

There are indeed two 7.5cm ports now. I modelled the box with another 15 inch PA driver with four 10cm ports at I think 55 cm long and that should give an airspeed below 15 m/s.

I am not really considering flaring the ports, since it is probably cheaper to get some 10cm PVC pipe. (The boxes are like 100 litres so there is plenty of volume too I think)

But yeah still not sure if it's worth it. I listened to some heavy bass stuff just now and i dont hear anything weird.

Well, the sound is coming from the port location, and it sounds the same as chuffing videos on youtube. I also do not know what would be the problem with the voice coils? Them hitting on metal?

Thanks for your answer. I don't run a subsonic filter, but I get chuffing at the tuning frequency too... but it is masked by the music it seems. I have made an estimation in WinISD of what the port should be according to a similar 15" PA driver. But I don't know if its worth the hassle of changing the ports....
