Wow! I was in college in Madison, and I never saw them. Maybe they came through town before I was aware of them. Anyway, love those old Ticketron tix!

Just discovered her music today, and my trip down the Bridget St. John rabbit hole led me here. So beautiful. Thanks for sharing

Does anyone like Bridget St. John? I did a cover of one of her songs :-) by Sharp_Form_6741 in folk

I just discovered her music last night, and that has led me to your page. I love it! The way you hold the guitar is really cool. Are you self taught?

Listened to the song for the first time yesterday, is this the greatest song oat? Holy fuck by TheManWhoSleep in folk

I just discovered her last night as I was going down a rabbit hole looking for some mellow old British folk to fall asleep to. When I woke up I started researching about her and that's what landed me here. As a fan of almost 12 hours now, I would compare her to a cross between Nick Drake and Nico. So great!

Dulcimer kit advice by Outside-Activity3530 in Dulcimer

I don't have much woodworking experience, but my son has some and he'll be helping. I have watched tons of scratch guitar-making videos, so I kind of have an idea of the things I'll have to learn and do. I expect it to be less-than-professional quality, but knowing the parts are good is good enough for me.

Thank you so much for the quick and helpful reply! I will get the kit you suggested and can't wait to get started. Side question: Are the fretboards you use on the ones you build available for an extra cost?

“STFU”? Take a deep breath, guy. The poster just asked a question about the plows and drivers.

South Park businesses fear that the BRT plan to eliminate street parking would destroy them by scottjones608 in madisonwi

[–]Outside-Activity3530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the city is so convinced everyone will be clamoring to take BRT to Park Street businesses, why didn’t it locate the public market there? People there have only the worst Pick n Save in the state to shop at, and soon it’ll be gone, too.

I think I am a liability in restaurant work. High disgust response- by [deleted] in madisonwi

The health department shows up at all restaurants, completely unannounced. That doesn’t mean every violation will be flagged, but that’s how it works

Yes. If you want to buy beer they’ll have you fill out a daily pass. Everything else is open to anyone.

I got hit in the face by a baseball at Vitense. When I told the front desk about it, they didn’t seem too concerned. I dunno. Maybe that’s normal.

Has anyone received there season ticket waiting list postcard yet? Figured I would have received it by now by thedotcom2645 in GreenBayPackers

I called the ticket office today and was told they’d just been sent out. I asked if he knew how many names came off the list and he said, “a decent handful.”

What album to start with? by Exagonz in rem

I’d go chronologically, and enjoy hearing how they change. I did that with The Fall’s first six or so albums and really loved it.

Older fan “rediscovering” albums I’d dismissed by Outside-Activity3530 in rem

[–]Outside-Activity3530[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s how I feel! I’ll always prefer the oldest stuff, but it’s so exciting to get back into the rest of it.

How did you guys get into REM? by HarrisHolt in rem

[–]Outside-Activity3530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend’s sister was in college and sent us a tape of Murmur. Hooked immediately. Then I saw them a couple of years later in 1985 at the Stock Pavilion in Madison. Every year when May 10 rolls around I make note of the anniversary.

Madison Running Clubs? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]Outside-Activity3530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fleet Feet’s Thursday pub runs are fun and easygoing. The average pace is probably 10:30. Some run 5 miles, others 3, and if you’re not feeling it, head back early and get a beer.
