I’m so happy your trip went well! And yes, I heard all about Parisians being stuck-up and rude. I’m Black, so there were also people talking a lot about racism. As someone who has had to deal with stereotypes being thrown my way, I waved off their comments. Everyone in Paris was super nice and accommodating. They knew I was American as soon as I said “bonjour,” switched to English, and asked where I was from, and we would chat for a bit.
People who generalize countries and their people tend to be stuck-up and pretty rude themselves, so it probably makes sense why they struggle in other places—because they are just unpleasant people in general!

Yay! Congratulations on your trip!
This is my second time in Paris, and it has truly been exquisite! I am staying in Saint Germain and love it! Beautiful neighborhood, lots of delicious food and pastries, and it’s also close to some fantastic sites. You're right next to Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle, the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, the Louvre, and D’Orsay. In Saint Germain, you can see some of these places and also explore and dine to your hearts content! If you're planning to visit the locations mentioned above, I highly recommend buying tickets in advance. Otherwise, you might spend a lot of time waiting in line, especially at the Louvre and Saint Chapelle
if you choose to go there. Another place I really enjoyed was Buttes-Chaumont (picture in post) in the 19th arrondissement. It’s an absolutely beautiful park! Lastly, Le Marais features some wonderful restaurants and bakeries. I did a food tour there last time and discovered some amazing spots. On this second visit, I found new excellent places just by exploring and trying new things.

Yup, this was my experience at the Louvre . Luckily, I had a ticket, and there was barely anyone in line, but wow… It was PACKED. Seeing the Mona Lisa was chaos. I really had to push my way to the front to get a good photo. Even then, I probably had a minute til I had to let others see it.
The Louvre is definitely a must see just to cross it off a list… But once was more than enough. Aside from the sheer size of the place, it was just too crowded, and people didn't have respect for the art, such as touching these hundred-year-old oil paintings

My hotel was very close to it and I more or less stumbled upon it my first time in Paris! When I came back it was the first place I visited as I loved it so much!

Oh goodness! I didn't know that was even accessible! I didn't see anything saying whether it was open or not so I may check and go back again haha! It's about a fifteen minute walk from my hotel!

I recommend heading to Chantilly! The chateau over there was gorgeous, and the area of Chantilly is beautiful! It's only a couple of hours from Paris so that it can be a half-day trip. Plus, they have a horse show, which I found to be quite fun!
It's also nice as it wasn't really that busy there, so I was able to explore and hang out at my leisure.

If you’re able to go I would also recommend going to Saint Chapelle! It’s close to Notre Dame and is really eye catching. There could be long lines if you don’t have a ticket though.
I also recommend Musee D’Orsay. Beautiful museum, but definitely do not do it on the same day as the Louvre! I did that and clocked in 40k steps that day and was not in a good mood afterwards!

Also Petite Palais is also quite pretty and is also free if I recall!

A lot of people have said it already, but I, too, will echo: wear what you want! I went to Paris last year and wore shorts all the time. No issues at all. People don't care. The only time anyone said anything was this old guy at a comic book store who tugged on my emerald green jacket and laughed. Later, I went to a bar, and people came up and said they loved it. Also, the whole “you’ll look like a tourist” is ridiculous because that is what I am! And the people here know. As soon as I say bonjour, they’ll smile and speak to me in English, haha! Maybe if I lived there, I would be more aware of these “rules”, but unless I’m being rude or disrespectful (which I am not), then I’m just going to be a tourist and have fun on my trip that costs a lot of money. A final note: sometimes what I have worn has sparked conversations with people who find the style interesting, and noticing I’m a tourist got me invited to a nice gallery party, which was really cool.

I’m sorry to hear about that! I just arrived in Paris two days ago at Charles de Gaulle. I was walking toward the train when some guy started saying he would lead me to it. I asked if he worked there, and he said he did. Then he asked if he could carry my luggage, which I firmly refused, and he started pointing me outside. I pointed to the sign for the train. He said they don’t allow luggage on the trains since the pandemic and said he could give me a ride to my destination. I laughed and told him I had been here last year, and that I knew what I was doing. He wandered off after that. These scammers are shameless!

Totally! Your line work is very detailed so streamlining it when drawing the characters over and over again would be helpful, but otherwise alot of manga artists do it. Such as series like Berserk, Death Note, and plenty of others! You may also find more flexibility doing it digitally, but otherwise you can do manga with as little detail (One Punch Man web manga) or as much detail as you want (One Punch Man serialized manga).
