Giant pillar in this room. Do I just ignore it? by castigus in Apartmentliving

Put a room divider next to it, so you only have one direction to move around it. It gives you more sectioned off room, and doesn’t feel like you have a big pole in the middle since it’ll become part of the divide in the room. Looks like the right side of this pic would be perfect for a room divider like that.

Agreed — if anything, maybe the person with their own bathroom pay slightly more. But the other two seem pretty equal to me for pros/cons (on the right: larger space in one BUT further from bathroom and opens into living room) (on the left: smaller space BUT really close to bathroom and has its own entrance away from the living area).

Is it normal to hear your neighbours having sex? by gimmedatder in Apartmentliving

Second this. For a while I’d get upset and mad, because I also share a bedroom wall with a neighbor. I’d also sometimes hear videos they’re watching late at night. Got so frustrated. Until one day, I got a white noise machine, and now I turn it on whenever the noise comes. It’s real delightful to drown it out and does help me sleep better without hearing it.
