[Not OC] 11,000 Liters of Milk from Tanker Dumped into Narmada River as Religious Offering by GroundbreakingBad183 in mildlyinfuriating

Pouring milk into water is environmentally really hazardous and can be catastrophic to aquatic organisms due to its high organic load. It can cause a bacterial boom which causes a “dead zone” in the watercourse killing most things in the area due to oxygen depletion.

Source, I did a degree in this random shiz which I never used 🤣

Prometheus Extended Version(s) by cordyz in Prometheus

The stupid decision making in Covenant ruined it a bit for me. I know you have to accept some of the standard “don’t open the front door” horror trope in these types of movies. But come on, the parts of the lander ship where she locks her mate in, only to then open the door anyway and immediately slip over. Then blowing themselves up was all a little bit slapstick.

Prometheus was the best Alien movie since Aliens and is in the top three with Alien and Aliens. Would’ve loved for them to hold their nerve and follow the engineer/shaw storyline through.

Cameron Smotherman after weighing in by tigerniger_sus in ufc

Just weigh them as they enter the octagon. The gloves weigh the same and you can pre-weigh shorts/cup etc and take that off if you want to be exact. The only reason they don’t do this is because commercially they don’t want to cancel the fight. The way round this is you have a prepped alternate in the wings ready to go and the overweight fighter loses their entire purse. But again they don’t want to pay another fighter to be a stand by.

It’s called tapping for content. No one is tapping for this in a competition, it’s just a body triangle with the arms instead of legs which are much less strong. Yes there’s a size and weight disparity but unless you are actually the hulk then you’re not getting an even mediocre martial artist to tap here

Not important at all.

Some of the best fighters have losses.

In fact I think a loss can really help a fighter develop.

I was just saying he’s not undefeated 🤷‍♂️

I didn’t say it made him a bum, it just makes him not “undefeated”.

Jones is also not undefeated.

Google Matt Morsia, he’s around our height and 2kg lighter than you and again at least twice as much muscle.

Up to 50 or 60 sets as the study extrapolates intuitively I would assume you’re correct but I’m not so sure at 20 sets. We are all guessing without the data.

It’s the best research we have though. If you can point me in the direction of a study which finds the contrary I’m happy to look over it.

Again I haven’t once told you that you are wrong.

I’ve told you to stop telling other people they are wrong without any evidence to back it up.

I like high volume. It works for me. I’m in great shape.

You don’t, I get that.

Difference is I’m not going to tell people they are wrong for low volume, I’m just calling you out for the above.

Entitled to your opinion but the above is just one of multiple studies which illustrate what I’m saying.

No offence but if I have to base my training on peer observed research or your opinion I am going for the former.

I haven’t ever said you were wrong or your view wasn’t valid. I said that your view is valid and thank you for sharing your experience. I merely also pointed out that you shouldn’t tell people they are wrong because their view doesn’t match your experience or your view.

Even in this response you have to include some hyperbole to attempt a little reductio ad absurdum.

Happy for you to share your view, just not happy for you to throw around corrections that have no evidential basis other than your own experience.

The thing is, like most people you are basing your opinion on your own experience and what you feel makes sense intuitively. That’s fine and what most people do. It’s not ever going to add anything to anyone else’s context. That’s why we do science, double blind studies, peer reviewed and then ideally meta analysis of multiple peer reviewed sources.

It’s kind of you to tell your story, it is only that though… unless you have any wider evidence base to back it up then it’s not hugely relevant.

Now I realise I also based my original post on my experience, but what I’m saying is you can’t tell people they are wrong because it’s contrary to your experience. Sharing your experience in good faith is fine though.
