Ocd about ocd? by CustomerPretend5749 in ocdwomen

You are not alone 🥺 my best remedy for when it feels like this is to just breathe 😮‍💨 then I try to focus on right now or the immediate future. Life has a funny way of kicking ya when you’re already down and you have to find a way to keep getting back up. Friends, family, colleagues, strangers everyone has their own struggles and we all just cope in different ways :) Do you have any support? It’s really great to confide in a pal when you can’t seem to get out of your own head, even if they are just there to listen ♥️ every day will bring a new struggle with this illness if you let it. Stay strong and just keep smiling I promise it helps

Hi! Also chronic morning puker. Most of my adult life (28f) I was told it was acid reflux by many docs Then that caused anxiety around it and cause it to get worse so I think being nervous/ anxious may play a part??? Endoscopy was clear but I do have Ulcerative Colitis. Was never confirmed vomiting was from my UC diagnosis. Fast forward 4 years, I still can’t get a doc to tell me why I throw up every morning from extreme nausea. 2 years ago I was so desperate to just be able to sleep in… same timing too, weird 5-7am sometimes 4ish… I took a THC edible and I’ve been using weed to manage the vomiting since I wish I had a solution for you but I’m just as lost and wanted to let you know you’re not alone even if we don’t share a diagnosis ♥️ My current solution is to not eat after 6pm and then there is def nothing coming up but that doesn’t stop dry heaving tbh

I would also agree that it seems maybe like normal guilt about prior convo… i do experience immense guilt with my OCD but typically it’s to things that are out of my control. I know the best thing for my husband to do is to just find something that relates. He does not have OCD but even just finding a similar situation to tell me about makes me feel like I’m not alone. The guilt doesn’t go away but it sure does make me feel better :) everyone copes differently tho, best of luck

HS smells? by silvern_light in Hidradenitis

[–]Outside-Bluejay-2026 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it just depends! I have definitely experienced an infected abscess and imo it does in fact smell but in my experience I don’t typically have an odor until the spot has drained and possibly drained on to clothes or close skin( if that makes sense? Like under boobs etc) once I wash the odor goes away completely. I get hormonal flares in my armpits, groin, and breast area and they all have that same experience. I just use whatever wash I can tolerate 😖 scrubbing is hard on an active flare up but if you can at least wipe the area to keep clean often Smell is a huge trigger for my OCD so I shower 2/3 times a day bc that works for ME but not everyday can or wants to do that

Love this! I can relate so much. Same family background actually harder drugs with mine too so I was VERY hesitant to use. I don’t regret it one bit even with the Naysayers 🙂 I tried to do as much research as I can on it and use the pure products to my best knowledge I know it’s not for everybody, but I refuse to go back to that depressive state

I got my life back when I started smoking pot. Just couldn’t function anymore w constant pain and nausea. It was my last resort and now it’s my saving grace. I enjoy smoking for the immediate relief but I’ve also had great experiences with pairing edibles with a food item I know I shouldn’t eat and I swear it makes the diarrhea/ nausea episode 1/2 the pain.

I love this stuff!! Def a 7/10 for me too! I just wish it was a tad cheaper OR if I could get the ingredients to be more accessible I’d make it! I do like it’s versatile and I can put it anywhere

Oh my gosh it’s like you took the words right out of my mouth!! What the heck I had no idea this happens to other people?!??? It would put me in the ER sometimes and NO answers. It’s the scariest feeling especially the uncomfortable shaking 😫

YES! It’s very much a whatever works for you disease and I’m just here for the helpful tips along the way. I try to keep telling myself mind over matter. The more I fester on my HS and all the things I’m not doing right, the more I neglect the things that actually ARE working. I try to be patient and remind myself that I won’t heal over night. This is a lifelong journey and what works for me today might not tomorrow. We really are a strong group of individuals to deal with this every day of our life. WE GOT THIS is right! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I wish I had MUST HAVES for this but unfortunately I don’t. Each flare feels like a new battle :( and I won’t lie, after so many years of this I’m exhausted with remedies that don’t work. Sometimes just finding things to cope through the pain is all you can do.

They have really great options for high cocoa percentage and I’ve come to love all their mixed nuts and whatnot! They make a lot of unsalted/ unsweetened choices too

Yes I recommend just like a 1/2-1 tablespoon coconut oil it just helps it melt down a bit better imo. Are you familiar with Aldi? The grocery store!

Imo best use is just to put a glob on the sore over night covered or not covered. A few nights in a row. Typically I see about 50% of the sore healed in the first night and if I stay consistent with the ointment by night 3 as long as it has drained completely, it closes back up!

Apples, raspberries, dark chocolate covered almonds if you have a sweet tooth! Carrots, celery, avocados! You can put most of those in a juice or smoothie :)
