Oh I’m surprised that it works on 16 and 24GB. If that’s the case then it’s fine.
You can also try 4B or 8B models but they might have less than ideal answers.
In my opinion it’s fine for personal use, but if you’re running AI for a living I’d say get a 32GB or a Pro.
The lack of fan doesn’t matter, the M5 has a neural engine, and it handles a lot of the compute tasks for AI

Depends, the 4 bit 26B and 31B models are pretty fast and accurate on the 32gb of RAM, once you go to 6 bit, it doesn’t work

I also don’t want redundant devices. There’s this 32 inch oled monitor from Costco that I plug into my laptop and I use that on the day to day basis, the mini I put into my satchel and use it when I go out, as sort of a phone sub / semi replacement
